Beverly Hills, Calif. — Hugh Hefner, who created Playboy magazine and spun it into a media and entertainment-industry giant — all the while, as its very public avatar, squiring attractive young women (and sometimes marrying them) well into his 80s — died at his home here Sept. 27. He was 91.
Joel included a discussion of him in his monologue on the 1960s in episode 202- CATALINA CAPER.
Hugh wont need Viagra anymore to stay stiff.
by the way, Sampo, the photo has Nudity in it.
That was the one of the first things that crossed my mind this morning when I heard the news, Joel’s monologue…
Wow, Hefner is an example of a life well-lived. Safe journey to that big grotto in the sky, my friend.
He’s hot-tubbing with the angels now.
So long, and thanks for all the boobs.
Yeah but it’s blurry.
Just how Hef would have wanted it. A fitting tribute. RIP sir.
It would be easier to praise Hefner, if he hadn’t devoted the last thirty years to numerous hagiographies and televised tributes to himself. Jonas Salk should’ve been half as praised.
i figure that, but i was amazed to see that on here.
When I think of Hef and MST, I always think of that scene in Diabolik where he rolls over Eva, and Servo goes “Hef taught me that move!” I don’t remember if that was in the bed of money scene or right before they go after the emeralds, but it was classic.
We’ll miss you, Hef!
Was he an improver of American society? Bearing in mind that he was partly responsible for this age of being able to become wealthy by having “a big -ss and a sex tape” you will have to decide. Personally, I did not see him as the promoter of women’s rights he made himself out to be, but I am always gratified to see someone achieve a long, happy life. RIP
Basically he was just a glorified pimp.
Just like the pinups in the background in Sidehackers! (Which really aren’t all that blurry, now that I think of it…
Did we watch the scrambled channels back in the day?
Yes.
not really.
Ironically, this story is now at the bottom of the page, and just below and to the right it says “Older Entries >>”. Just… awesome.
