Weekend Discussion Thread: Worst Performances

With the Oscars this weekend, I thought we’d follow up on the recent “worst movie” discussion with some “worst performance” picks.

This week: Worst performance by an actress in a leading role.

My nomination: Kathrine Victor, star of “Wild Wild World of Batwoman.” Clunky and unconvincing from start to finish.

Who’s your pick?

“Lucas D.: Oh, wait; I think Matt D. was talking about Mrs. Heintz from “Time Chasers.”

That is indeed who I was speaking of. I am usually not that great on seeing bad acting (I thought Mark Hamill was fine in Star Wars), but even I had to wretch at the 20 seconds of acting from that woman.

Sampo asked for worst performance by a female in a leading role, so I give you: Adrianna Miles! Kathy Ireland in Alien from LA was at least trying to act, she just can’t. Adrianna, however, didn’t even try. Notice the “This is absolutely fascinating” fiasco in the stinger, where she just stares off into space after her line reading. Shudder. Most of the other nominees were just hammily overacting (Jean Fontaine in The Sinister Urge), or were not leads (“I’m kinda dumb” lady in The Dead Talk Back).

Cake? Tough to argue with Devil’s Food….

All the female dancers in The Horrors of Spider Island. They looked good on screen, but boy, they sure can’t act!

Someone help me out here. I can’t recall the title but it had to do with an astranaut landing on the moon, then shrinking. He then meets a brunette who is mute. She didn’t have a single line in the movie and still was horrible.

  7. It’s Valeria from Robot Holocaust. Go watch the episode if you haven’t seen it.

A little late returning to the party, but quite right, Lucas D. about Mrs. Sunderland. A shiny chrome cookie for you.

And regarding Mrs. Heintz from Time Chasers, let’s not forget her Community Theater sister…en: Betty’s mom from Teenage Strangler, the drunk ouija board enthusiast from Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders, and Helga the Whore from Giant Spider Invasion.
