Charlie at the FairThis has been on YouTube for a while, but our buddy Timmy just alerted us to it. Canadian artist Charles Pacter, who played little Johnny in the short “Johnny at the Fair” did a short documentary about the experience of tracking down the director of the movie. Also featured in the film, Charles’ mom, who played Johnny’s mom in the short. Sadly there is no mention of MST3K in it.

This is a very sweet and short doc. I’m always fascinated about how these shorts got made, and why and who for. It seems like meeting all those famous people and being let loose at the Exhibition for two weeks had as much an affect on a 4 year old as I would have expected. Well done!

It appears as if the short shown in the documentary is different from the MST version. Definitely has a different narrator.

Sounds like Lorne Greene doing the narrating as he worked for the CBC and NFB in the 40’s. Nice to see that Mum and the director are still around.
