I was hoping they might do that for some of the Shout Select re-releases, especially “The Atomic Brain.” It pissed me off about the missing stinger on the Rhino version. If Shout had included Lobby Posters from Steve, then I would have been forced to buy all of the re-releases for completist collectors sake. But apparently it wasn’t worth the cost for them. Perhaps they should mount a kickstarter campaign for making posters for the remaining episodes….for posterity if nothing else.

Bring ’em along and work on them during the trip.

I’m excited about this. City Limits, Riding With Death, and Incredible Melting Man are great episodes. Really bad movies, but the kind that provide plenty of fodder for high grade riffs. Stranded In Space, not so much. It’s mostly just boring and the riffs are ok but generally it’s a pretty forgettable episode. Still, it’s not as bad as Castle of Fu Manchu.

Not so much lost as just not broadcast or talked about as much as others. It’s both an OK TV-movie and an OK ep. Frank wrote a pretty funny piece about it in the ACEG.

For “Stranded in Space,” I really hope that Shout Factory is able to get an interview with Gerald Sanford, the writer/creator of “The Stranger” (the unsold TV pilot which was edited into “Stranded in Space”). He still answers questions about it on IMDb, along with his other writing (for CHiPs, Night Gallery, etc.), and he sounds like a man with some interesting stories to tell.
For “Riding With Death,” I hope they can get Jim Stafford for an interview. I know that Ben Murphy is still around, but from the few interviews he’s given, he doesn’t sound like the nostalgic type.

… not that I’d be unsatisfied with a “bare-bones” release, of course! I’ve wanted “Riding With Death” for so long that I’d be happy with a DVD-R in a brown paper envelope!

Have never thought of these films together, but yes it is perfect. Like a good fireworks show, reading each title make me light up.

Stranded in Space starring Zefram Cochrane and a whole bunch of big 1970s sedans! :)

Awesome idea – “Kim Cattrall: In Conversation” Betcha Mr. Trace Beaulieu would be into it – voicing Crow T. one more time for an on-camera interview where Crow interviews Ms. Cattrall. Crow could dress as James Lipton, and ask her what her favorite swear word is. Shout – you could totally claim it was your idea, and I wouldn’t say a thing! I’d just wink and give you a knowing nod when we see each other on the subway…

When I heard the good news I threw all my patent papers up in the air! Wheeeeee!

Nice to see TIMM finally get a release, which means S7 is almost fully completed. I wonder how gross Steve Vance will make his artwork involving Crow and Servo with this one! All in all a decent set.

CB radio was basically the forerunner of social media. ;)
The fad part aside, they never really went away. If I was traveling cross country, especially in areas that are still black holes for cell phones, I’d want one in my car. My dad had one well before the fad started, and this was back when the FCC mandated you had to have an operator’s license.

WEEE!!! Another killer set from Shout Factory, especially giddy to see INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN (a personal favorite), and CITY LIMITS (which has been difficult to track down solid info about).

This is a prime opportunity to interview Beez about where the heck they got the Ben Murphy standee they used in Squirm. Did they make it themselves, or did it come from somewhere?

You know, Steve Vance poster art for all of the titles Shout! Factory can’t get the rights to would make a wonderful bonus on the final set. Those of you with unofficial copies could then make your DVD cases fit in with the rest of the series. It would also make up for what may turn out to be a set of < 4 DVDs.

Well at least you’re self-aware. And knowing is half the battle!

Thanks Jordan Fields/Shout Factory, for another great set.

Man. What a terrible set. It’s like Shout is not even trying!
I would rather watch scratchy episodes of The Waltons on VHS!
I want Shout to re-release the episode where the old man walks around the bush and turns into a monster, and the kids pretend to shoot him, and the old man comes back around and says “I think you got him!”
Yeah. And more Serling anecdotes!
I feel dizzy.
Mommie?

You’d rather they RE-release an episode than release four previously unreleased episodes that, based on the comments, many people are clamoring for. You make me want to clean my filthy glasses.

Sounds like Shout! has been working hard on their patent papers :-D

They need to interview Mickey Lolich for The Incredible Melting Man. Lolich, former Detroit Tiger pitcher, still holds the record for the most strikeouts by a left handed pitcher in the American League, and, was the MVP of the 1968 World Series. That said, the story goes Mickey’s agent got him a bit part of a Security Guard in the film (he was not the one who shot our cracker loving hero). It would be good to have a strikeout king in baseball talk about a strikeout of a movie.

I was kidding, Dr. Monkey. I was pretending a drunken and confused rant describing a Twilight Zone episode instead of anything MST3K. 8-)
Volume 36 is, of course, a good set, and one step ever closer to what forum poster “Bones” calls the Susan Hart Barrier.
I regret any confusion my humor birthed.

Finally, “Riding With Death”! Maybe Driscoll will stop harrassing me now.

Interviews with either Kim Catrall or James Earl Jones (or better yet, both if it’s possible) would be amazing BUT…..since City Limits is a FVI flick and we’re running out of those (any FVI eps that Shout hasn’t gotten to yet?), as I have begged and implored in recent months, if anybody from Shout is reading this PLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASE try to include a mini documentary covering the history (dare I also say, the histrionics?), the hows, whys and the who’s of Film Venture International! The shoddy and opportunistic film appropriation! The chopping up of TV pilots! The weird, eery unrelated openings with their oddly ambient music! The guy who owned FVI who looted the company and fled to another country never to be heard form again! Come on, pleeeeeeease have Ballyhoo or someone make a documentary about this insanely weird little company!!! :-D

Meant “from” not “form” obviously. :p

I can’t believe I was afraid I would be Stranded with no Limits, sad to Death! It’s Incredible! I should’ve known Shout could do it!

This will be my all time favorite box so far. Some of my all time episodes! (Except for Crow’s annoying Kim Cattrall song) Are you all ready for the power of Ted Nelson!? I sure am!

So how many – and which titles – are remaining to be released? It’s got to be less than twenty-five at this point, right?
