Okay, we’ll admit it, we’ve been a bit busy in the real world and we’re a little behind on announcing RiffTrax titles, so let’s catch up:
In the general b-movie category, there was:
Get it here.
In the “MST3K Monday” category there’s been releases of:
Get it here.
and…
Get it here.
And in the Film Crew February category they have released:
Get it here.
and:
Get it here.
And finally, thanks to Timmy for the heads up on this one: the latest annotated episode on YouTube is episode 624- SAMSON VS. THE VAMPIRE WOMEN.
The Wild Women of Wongo…..I tell you, if this had been done back in the MST3K days I think it would have been considered a ‘classic.’ Plus, after watching it, look up the history of Florida’s “Coral Castle” where some of it was filmed – it’s quite interesting!
Wasn’t it ghost directed by Tennessee Williams?
Just a matter of time… wait for it …
DANCE!!!
DANCE!!!
DANCE!!!
i am watching the movie right now (rented it from Netflix).
The premise of this movie is so stupid, I have to suspect that the filmmaker must have been dumped by a hot girl who married an “ugly” guy.
On the other hand, the whole “they should marry their own kind” theme could be a racist subtext.
It definitely feels the most MST3K-ish selection of the Crew films, of which the rest were either just random, or trying to hitch a ride on classic MST3K tropes.
Not to mention the guys’ ;-) parody at the end, which has to be one of the few times FC actually scene-specifically parodied something in the movie.
And, as they point out, since Wongo is a fictitious island, it’s not quite as far a reach for Kevin Murphy to try to tie it back into Tolkien-losers and Ren-fests, as he tried to in every FC episode.
As for Icebreaker, is there some other reason for doing this episode besides “Milking a fan-favorite Sci-Fi episode by doing the director’s entire filmography” as an excuse to put Time Chasers on the cover?
Nah, I’m positive they did it just to personally spite you.
I’ve heard it was Orson Welles.
Good thing MST3K never revisited films by actors and directors they had riffed before.
Sean Astin as a champion snowboarder?
Yeah, that’s believable.
Versus a terrorist who’s planning to kill people and blow stuff up for no particular reason other than … he’s dying?
In Edgewood Studios movies, evil guys are just evil and that’s all you have to know.
Talk about a mindless potboiler, Icebreaker definitely fits the bill.
“Rutland’s packing more than just snow.”
Oh yeah! It’s packing fudge!

I’m sorry.
bad but funny
@13
but i must still take off your arm and throw it in the air.
According to reviews (and a dim memory of having once seen this), the villain made a video explaining his reason, and the video was destroyed in the movie without ever being shown.
Don’t forget, it’s also his birthday!
No no no, all wrong. Bruce Campbell (with hair) as The Reluctant Hero (yeah – that would be a stretch), Robbie Benson Lookalike as The Dweeb Who Gets The Girl Anyway, Creepy Airplane Guy as the The Crazed Villian. THAT’S how you cast a movie.
Incidentally … how exactly did Bald Bruce Campbell get Creepy Airplane Guy onto the copter’s landing skid??? “Hey buddy, grab on to this – does it feel, I don’t know, kinda wobbly?”
I’d say The Giant of Marathon is also MST300ish. Fits in with one of the guys doing Herc.
And there’s a pretty accurate analysis of the battle at the midpoint break (although (Kevin’s?) lunch
was also destroyed). :(
