A fan even asked if they would revisit The Green Slime with Cinematic Titanic, and Joel and Trace seemed to think that was a good idea.
Hee! Another anonymous shout-out to me, the dork in the white tux jacket!

Only sort of related, but I found a good (and new) interview with Mary Jo here (which happens to be one of my favourite MST3K-related sites, besides–of course!–this one and Mighty Jack’s):

jere7my: that was you*? Good question! I remember with that question (and another one I can’t recall), Joel and Trace seemed genuinely impressed. That’s one thing that was cool about that session. Joel and Trace had no pretense of superiority. They treated everyone there as equals.
Well, most of us, anyway….
* (I have to admit, I didn’t see your response to my post a few weeks ago. But when you said “another anonymous shout-out” I had to go back and check it out. Cool!)

Oh, good, this is going to be an extra on a future Shout! Factory release. Should be interesting.

I think Warner Bros. owns the rights to The Green Slime so it’s a bit optimistic to think we’ll see a CT version though if Warners were smart they’d allow it and package it along with the original which still hasnt’ been issued on DVD. I bet they’d sell a lot more copies. They should have done the same with Moon Zero Two.

I strongly reccomend every fan of MST3K get a copy of the green slime. It re-defines the words “cheesy film”. Campy dialog, model space ship, rubber suit monsters, dumb plots, big budget set design that fails to be believable, a super campy title credit music. This everything that CT needs to make a whiz bang of an episode. CT are you listening? As for the interview it is again great press for CT. They are obviously doing something right.

As J Elvis said when Joel showed the pilot recently, “Couldn’t afford THAT now”. Green Slime’s an MGM film. No way they could get it for CT, and since it has no official DVD release, no chance of Rifftrax doing it.
Of course, I happen to know some fellas doing it for iRiffs next week, in fact…

Hey jere7my, I was the starstruck dork sitting next to you that asked the really lame question at the end that made trace bang his head on the table! :) (They better keep that out of the next dvd special!) I can’t wait to see them again in two weeks, this MIT event was SO great.
