LOS ANGELES – Wayne Rogers, who portrayed wisecracking Army surgeon “Trapper John” McIntyre in the first three seasons of TV’s “M*A*S*H,” and who later became a respected financial analyst, died Dec. 31. He was 82.
MSTies will recall he was at the center of conversation in a host segment in episode 410- HERCULES AGAINST THE MOON MEN when Joel and the bots discussed what Crow called “the Wayne Rogers syndrome.”
He had a great laugh on MASH. He and Alda laughing together warms my heart. RIP Trapper.
didn’t they also say his name (under there breath) when they said it’s a wonderful life was the marlo thomas version.
Never seen the TV series, only the movie. I have seen a few movies in which Wayne Rogers starred (e.g., Ghosts of Mississippi).
Wayne was so great in M*A*S*H. Loved his character.
Sorry to hear this. R.I.P., Mr Rogers. Prayers for your family.
This deeply saddens me. M*A*S*H was my 2nd favorite show behind mst. The comedic chemistry between Rogers and Alda was truly something to behold. RIP Trap.
Sad to hear this..Loved him on MASH and COOL HAND LUKE(which also starred Joe Don Baker). He also wrote the screenplay for THE ASTRO-ZOMBIES…RIP Wayne, you will be missed..
I just watched HVMM on Pluto TV the other night. Totally shocked. Wayne was great as Trapper. RIP.
Why is it that some celebs’ deaths bother us so much more than others ???
For whatever reason, this one REALLY hurts………. :-((
He left and didn’t even leave a note! RIP Wayne Rogers.
