Thanks to Hersh for the heads up.
Nerds!Fox News lists the top 12 nerdy shows and a certain cowtown puppet show made the list. As they say in England, it’s a fair cop.

No Doctor Who?

Bah!
They don’t even mention The IT Crowd, ST is misrepresented (the nerdiest incarnation by far is clearly DS9), and they DO include Buffy!? (Not to mention MST is only #5!?)
These people clearly don’t know nerds.

Nerds, yeah I guess that is the word for it…nerds.

Real Genius should have made the list too.

I’m beginning to embrace my geekiness at a late age now (37), and this list cements it. However, I’m more a fan of the original Weird Science movie and the original Battlestar Galatica. Other than that, seen and loved everything listed, with the exception of Numbers ’cause I don’t like Rob Morrow.

Leave it to Fox News to make a cute little story sound angry.

Hey! Where’s the Doctor?

Not even for MST3K would I resort to watching Fox “News”.

No kidding.
The “N word” seems to be used rather spitefully here. But then again, a nerd is being sworn in as president today. Something for Fox to grumble about…

Why would they include MST3K as a great show, since they are clearly run by the epitomy of evil, Timmy!

Fox News only took that cheap swipe at the highly prestigious Peabody Award because their own Bill O’Reilly never actually won one (even though he claimed he did in one of his books.)

Foxnews has actually mentioned MST favorably on a number of occasions,so this doesn’t surprise me.

It’s non-news (not unique to Fox: all these “news” departments need filler).
And it’s not even *slightly* accurate: while there is a show or two on the list that would quality as “nerd” the list of 12 is incredibly skewed in very odd ways that don’t say “nerd” at all (as just a very tiny example, “Quantum Leap” is well-known for appealing mostly to females, which comprise a *very* tiny element of nerdom as much as we would wish otherwise. And weighting such a small list with TWO Star Trek series? It’s such a stretch in so many ways. And, like many have noted, leaving out such a truly nerd show as Doctor Who is just proof the writer had no idea what he was talking about).
Still, it’s always nice to have an MST3K mention, no matter how weird or odd or inaccurate the piece might be otherwise.

If it wasn’t for Quantum Leap, I never would’ve discovered MST3K. Many years ago I turned on my T.V. to watch Quantum Leap, but MST3K came on instead for some reason. I was to lazy to get the remote, so I watched it. My life was changed forever!

WHAAAT?! BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER made the list?! Great. Buffy AND MST. I’m a double nerd. :???:

Oh yeah, and if you want nerdy…watch ‘Smallville.’ Gah, the nerdishness.

Talk about overusing the word “nerd”. I find it rather condescending. It’s the kind of word that’s only really okay when you’re describing yourself.

I watch or have watched 8 of the 12 twelve shows listed. Everything is cool except for knightrider, that is a piece of crap. That goes for the new redone version, that is even crappier.

I’m probably reading too much into it, but Fox may have found out about the occasional poke at U.S. foreign policy in Cinematic Titanic and decided to dish out a slightly mean sounding jab in retaliation.

Nerdy? Oh, bite me, it’s fun!

For being a goofy fluff piece, the article as a whole sure sounded pretty mean and spiteful. But then, I wouldn’t expect anything otherwise from an organization like FOX News.

The simple inclusion of the Big Bang Theory shows that this guy has no clue what he’s talking about. The lack of Doctor Who or Space Ghost: Coast to Coast just seals the deal.
But, really…Big Bang Theory?! Who watches that show?!
