There’s a love theme for Manos?

Manos love theme. How about The Eagles “Hotel California”?
“Relax,” said the Night Man, “We are programmed to receive. You can check out any time you like but you can never leave.”

Seriously, this film had an original score? I sort of assumed that it was all cut-and-paste royalty-free library music. The score must have accounted for 2/3 of the budget. I like the cover art, though.

Hmmm … well, I am a vinyl junkie…
I’ll have to wait and see. May have to score the blended “Master” edition, ha

The cover art is actually pretty cool, almost Saul Bass-ish. I think “A Strange Gait” is my favorite song title. Could that be the haunting Torgo’s theme?

I have the Master Edition ordered. :musicnote:

*sigh* Ordered the Master Edition as well. I can’t imagine ever sitting down and listening to this, but I’m a sucker for cool colored vinyl.

Not gonna lie, the Manos soundtrack is both memorable and rather unnerving.
whether or not that counts a “praise” is up to you

That cover art is beeyootiful. I’d almost buy it just for that. Almost.

Yes that’s Torgo’s theme music. They put the entire soundtrack up on Bandcamp and Soundcloud a while back if you want to listen to it or buy a digital download from Bandcamp.

Now, is this from the same source as this?

or do we have multiple Manos afoot? I see that the vinyl is sourced from a newly discovered print in early 2015, while as the Manos restoration started a few years back. Maybe it all came together, and that’s why we’re finally getting the blu ray?

Alright, cards on the table time: How many times have you purchased a copy of or paid to see The Hands Of Fate in its many forms, in any medium? It’s six for me, I think. So far. And I’m looking forward to that Blu-Ray, Manos help me.
I’m fairly certain most of us have spent more money, individually, on the film than it ever made in Harold Warren’s lifetime. I wonder what he’d think. I’m certain Ed Wood would be delighted by his legacy; Coleman Francis would probably want to kill us all with a blunt instrument. (His face?) Would Hal still be embarrassed?

The source is an original 35mm magnetic soundtrack that was found (mislabeled, of course) in a Los Angeles lab. It is, by far, the best that Manos has ever sounded. Unfortunately, it was discovered too late for inclusion on the Blu-Ray, so our vinyl LP of Manos is the definitive audio version. We have been working side by side with the restoration team to make this package very special, and the liner notes by Tim Ferrante and Manos vocalist Nicki Mathis are chock full of cool tidbits.
For what it’s worth, I strongly believe that the Manos soundtrack is legitimately good. Through our research, we found that it was indeed original and was done by a local El Paso jazz combo. Give it a chance!

I’ve always thought that Torgo’s theme is genuinely creepy and worthy of a better film.

Hehe, I always thought there would be a track titled “The Haunting Torgo Theme”.

I have wondered how the soundtrack for Manos came about.
For a director who didn’t seem to care about other technical aspects of film making, it seems really odd that he would seek out someone to create an original score and not use cheap stock cues from somewhere.
Does the LP come with an MP3 download of the 2015 music source?
I might get it. I would be happy with a 2015 CD-R of the highest quality audio.
