Michael always seemed to show up on TV in the 80’s and 90’s when a guest spot was needed for a rocker-type character. I was surprised to find out a few months ago that his son Nick had worked on Gamefan, a very good video game magazine from the 90’s.

Michael, not Michel (or Mitchell).

In 1986, I went to my first proper rock concert. It was The Power Station, of “Some Like It Hot” fame. Robert Palmer backed out of touring, so they replaced him with Des Barres. Good show. Little did I know I watching the villain of MacGuyver front half of Duran Duran. Ah, memories…

Des Barres’ portrayal of the psychotic Murdock on MacGyver was something I always looked forward to. I loved looking for his name in the opening credits of the show, hoping he’d be appearing in the episode. Always a highlight.
