And as if one MSTed actor dying in Nevada wasn’t enough…
Don Galloway, the likable character actor best known for his long-running role as Sgt. Ed Brown on the NBC show “Ironside,” died Jan. 8 in Reno, Nev., after suffering a stroke. He was 71.
Some might also remember him for his role as JoBeth Williams’ husband in “The Big Chill.” MSTies will remember him John Hiller (Robert Denby’s cohort) in episode 814 – RIDING WITH DEATH.
The Hollywood Reporter notes his passing here.
Thanks to Michael for the heads up!
Weird coincidence…
So don’t retire in Nevada?

You know what They say – “Things happen in threes.”
Who’s next?
“They” can be pretty morbid.

I think Ben Murphy has something to do with this.

NOOOOO! First the director of my personal favorite SciFi experiment, and now the guy who crossed his fingers so defiantly in the ep. that my college friends all felt the Brains did the best job of riffing?!
*SNIFF* Whenever I watched either of those, it just felt like summer would never end.
My life will be, for-e-ver auuutummmn…

This is terrible news! Riding with Death is my second favorite Mike-era episode (first would be Puma Man). Also, I’ve recently been watching the first two seasons of Ironside on dvd. Rest in peace, Don Galloway…and say hi to Raymond Burr for us. You will be missed!

I actually remember Don Galloway mostly for his brief role in “The Big Chill”; I felt alittle bad for him because he was portrayed as kind of a buffoon whom JoBeth Williams eventually cheats on with Tom Berenger.
I guess I’ll have to rewatch “Riding With Death” to see if his character is any better off.
RIP Don
