The preview looks funny, but between this movie and “Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster”, Mary Shelley must be wondering if her book was such a good idea after all.

Looks great. “Abe Vigoda-gram!” is my favorite moment in the preview.

  7. This one looks good. But seeing a new trailer reminds me of my one gripe against CT. They put together such wickedly good trailers, I can’t understand why they don’t include them on the DVDs. It’s not like they’d take up that much space or anything and it would give just the tiniest bit of minty-fresh added value.

    Just sayin’.

I love, with these trailers, that they always add a “stinger” at the end.

I wish I could get to see their live show, “from the original cast of MST3K” to get a feel for their movie treatment on the fly. I don’t know if the trailers can do the whole film justice. Couple of the jokes are great, such as, Trace describing the opening of the coffin and riding with dear lifely. It just seems to me that Frank and Mary Jo seem a little out of place in a scripted format.

So for those that saw the live show of this, did it seem to be edited? I heard there’s a lot of nudity in the original.

And aye to poster #1. Talk about the most overused and abused novel/brand name in sci fi history.

I watched this yesterday to refresh my memory before the CT release. I found myself saying “Oh, that would be a good spot for a joke” and “I wonder what they’ll say there.” Can’t wait.

And, for a film that was rated PG back in the day, this has a lot of nudity. In fact, right in the first five minutes, a dead girl’s breast is fondled by the dwarf. And, I thought, “What might they say there?”

 Can’t wait! Rented this from Netflix a month ago and thought,”CT needs to do this one! It’s perfect for them!”.Sure enough, they did and it’s coming out!!! I would like to see the trailers included on their dvd’s,as well as behind the scene footage,interviews;etc..Maybe if we got on the message board on their website, then maybe they might read it and who knows!!!

They should come do a live show in the UK. That would be six ways of awesomesauce.

It’s really disappointing every time I hear about a new CT show and it’s no where even near my city. I understand the need to hit larger venues, but there’s a lot of MSTies in Arizona, too. C’mon guys! Even Lloyd Kaufman gave Tucson some love by premiering Poultrygeist here.

  17. Joe Sixpack says:

RT or CT should do Poultrygeist.

  18. The Professor says:

Poultrygeist probably wouldn’t work as well as the tens of thousands of films that Troma has picked up for distrubution. Those films are truly terrible. I, actually, think CT should hook up with Something Weird. Their video library is right up their alley.

I personally cannot WAIT for the full-backal-diamond-shaped nudity.

  20. C. says:

It would probably be RT, since I’m not sure what would Lloyd think about the idea of his movies being riffed on…

  21. John Seavey says:

I’ve read Lloyd Kaufman’s books (“Everything I Needed To Know About Film-making I Learned From the Toxic Avenger” and “Make Your Own Damn Movie”), and I gotta say, I think he’d take it in stride.

For one thing, he’s a guy who understands the commercial aspect of film-making, and a source of revenue is a source of revenue, especially for a small company like Troma that has to scramble for every buck.

For another thing, he respects and admires truly independent film-makers, and CT is artist-owned and funded.

And for a third thing, he’s a funny guy with a self-deprecating sense of humor and an ability to admit the flaws in his pics, and I think he could take any shots that CT gave him in the spirit they were intended.

Great choice of film. I watched the Elvira version a few months ago and it was a hoot and half!

 I think Something Weird would be the perfect place to find the kind of movies they can riff on.A lot of low budget turkeys from the 50’s and 60’s.If anyone has seen “Monster at Camp Sunshine”,they’ll know what I’m talking about…The Elvira version of this movie was good, but I kept thinking,”Just think what CT could do with this!” I hope they do “Frankenstein’s Daughter”(with John Ashley)and “The Astounding She-Monster”.Perfect for them!!
