Studio version of the live show. Apparently, the Kickstarter campaign didn’t include distribution rights, since this is the commentary track only. See a sample or download it here.

As part of my Kickstarter rewards package I got the mp3 free along with a $15 gift code to cover the cost of “purchasing the DVD” (as well as the new Coily riff). A pretty sweet deal. I don’t see myself watching Notzilla again anytime soon – that movie is easily 30 minutes too long even with riffing – but it’s nice to have it.
None of the Sony-owned films riffed for live shows were available for distribution, apparently. Getting an Anaconda mp3 was part of the Kickstarter package, so that show won’t be available either.
It’s really the only sour note of having these big-budget films be live fodder – unless there’s a shift at Sony, odds of seeing the show again on VOD or disc are slim.
Hopefully there are no issues on releasing the ’59 Santa Claus on disc/VOD for next Christmas.
Wish it was the live show available, but I’ll take it.
YES!!!! It will be nice to relive this one! This is the film I wanted them to do most for years, and it will be awesome to own the riff at last!
AT LONG LAST GINO, YOU HAVE MET YOUR MATCH!!!!!!!!
I’m probably the only one, but I miss the blockbuster riffs. But I understand why they don’t really do them anymore. Oh well, the VODs are great too
I wish they’d do movies that they’d then be able to sell as VODs. It just seems like it would be a no brainer from a business standpoint: You get to sell tickets to the show AND a lot of those people will then also pay for the VOD! That’s like almost doubling your money! And in the case of people like me, they aren’t getting any money at all because I don’t go see them in the theater but would not hesitate to pay for a VOD. I suppose maybe they are going for bigger titles that will draw more people to the theaters, which I can understand, but then I would have to assume that the rights to those movies cost a lot more. I would also have to assume that they know what they’re doing and wouldn’t make decisions that would hurt their bottom line, but I’d sure love to be able to get them as VODs!
I enjoyed the Rifftrax Godzilla Live Show riff, but it paled in comparison to the Quiptracks version.
I wonder if there was a way for them to release an mp3 of the live show. The guys sometimes have a funnier delivery and the crowds reaction to the material is great! Maybe I’m just weird.
