Sampo! Cudos for the “Loving You Has Made Me Bananas” reference! I thought I was the only one who remembered that record! ” … the Sweetest Music this side of the Monongahela River!”

Oooh!!!
Sampo, do we know what the coasters are made of? Are they cardboard and therefore something I would destroy if I actually attempted to use them for their intended purpose? I am only wondering because I actually do NEED coasters and these are indeed pretty kewl as you said…
What a great set of episodes this time too, very exciting!

It looks to me like using those coasters would destroy them. (As is the case with most functional coasters, in my experience.) Still, darn tempting.

Thanks for this.
I’m always like, “Who CARES about those unboxing videos on youtube? I don’t get it. It’s just bizarre.”
Then I saw your post and was on it like mustard on a hot dog.
I understand now. I am part of the collective. My only disappointment was not witnessing the emergence of a horde of tightly packed MST3K Planet stress balls from the box.

So, are the coasters in all the tins? Or just the Shout Factory orders? I got mine from Amazon this time.

The coasters are a premium for paying the higher price of ordering directly from Shout! You also get your shipment a week or two earlier than the on street date by ordering from Shout!

Oh my stars and garters – I do believe I just picked up five ultra-festive Decemberween tree decorations. Gosh bless us, every one!

From Shout!’s MST3K Facebook page:
“So check this out: there’s now an official MST3K YouTube channel, and you should subscribe for several reasons:
1. There are FULL-LENGTH episodes like Mitchell that are completely annotated.
2. There are great-quality, exclusive clips and sneak peeks (like the Turkey Day Collection unboxing video), updated regularly.
3. We have some REALLY COOL THINGS coming up very soon which you won’t want to miss. Just trust us on that.”
#3 is intriguing…

I watch the Official MST3K YouTube channel on my XBox, and I noticed an empty playlist titled “MST3K Turkey Day Marathon.” I would suspect they’re gearing up for the streaming in about a month. I’m glad they’re using YouTube again. I can watch it on tv that way

If the coasters are cardboard … I wonder if there would be some way to encase them in glass or plastic or something to protect them? like laminating, only stronger? would love to use them for their intended purpose, but only if they were 100% protected from damage.
