Liam McEneaney’s “Tell Your Friends” podcast has an interview with Frank. He discusses his standup career, his time at MST3K, his projects after he left the show and more. There’s lots of interesting things in the podcast but Frank’s interview begins at about the 14:30 mark.
Yay! Frank! Now, let’s see if we can resist the urge to politically nasty to one another, and just talk about the times Frank made us laugh. Y’know, TV’s Frank made me laugh really hard just the other day! I was watching “Eegah!”, and you know when Frank first mentions his Ice dancing lessons? And when he says it, he looks up and away like that, like all faux-reverent and pretentious-like? That was really funn…ahhh George W. Bush is a war criminal! Boy, that’s actually really hard to do!
I’d rather talk about how Frank STILL makes me laugh!
He doesn’t sing “Convoluted Man,” does he?
Frank Conniff has been doing a lot of really good stuff lately. Check out his latest Podhouse 90 play about Dracula with Trace Beaulieu, Laraine Newman, Josh Weinstein and more. http://frankconniff.com/podhouse90
Frank’s been complaining that his stuff hasn’t been promoted here. I hope that changes even if most people don’t agree with his political views.
I love everyone involved in MST3K, but TV’s Frank is my favorite.
@fireballil Far from it being that “most people don’t agree with his political views” I’d say that most people either do agree or simply don’t care and/or get worked up over him having and expressing an opinion, and it’s just that there is a tiny but very vocal minority of people who have a problem with his political views and feel the need to always turn any mention of his name into a political shouting match. It’s a shame that this site has chosen to mostly ignore him and his current projects because of that.
I agree with that, and I am one of those who don’t agree with his political views. I read his comments on Twitter and Facebook and cringe sometimes, wondering if he really thinks that way. I do realize that he is saying them to get a rise out of people, and he has every right to do that. To censor someone because you don’t agree with them is wrong. Everyone has a right to voice their beliefs and for a conservative like me do to that to anyone, especially someone I don’t agree with, makes me just as bad as them.
