Oh, joy. This is the only way I can stand those movies. Quidditch, Texas-style, hot and spicy. I don’t know what that means but I’m nevertheless giggling.

I see Bill got the most dignified photoshopped image, again, as usual. The poor man.

    Looking forward to this one.

This is the first good HP movie, but there’s still more than enough to riff here. I’m excited for this one.

Jason – That implies that there are MORE good HP movies, and I don’t think that’s the case.

I did like this one, but all the ones before and after were kinda bad. One and two were too focused on showing off the fact that the kids could do MAGIC,OMG (just like the books), and all the ones after Azkaban…the books were just way too long to make into coherent movies. They just jump from scene to scene with nothing tying them together.

Wow, I don’t agree with Jeff at all, except to say that the first two HP movies were not that great. I thought they only got better and better, with four being a great movie because the book allowed for cool action scenes. Plus, the actors got way better as time went on.

To be on-topic though, I bought the first two HP Rifftraxs, and even though I am obviously a fan of HP movies, this will be an easy purchase for me.

RT: Harry Potter History X are gems themselves. I survived my daughter’s HP craze that it is sweet revenge through these excellent RTs.

Books 1-5 are OK but the final two are absolutely junk/recycling material (can we say possible ghost writer?)

God Dammit, what does this business think it’s doing creating product that’s popular with it’s customers! Doesn’t it know it should only listen to the vocal minority! Freaking Sell Outs!

That joke about Hermione’s “Give Ron a —– spell” just made me laugh harder than I have in a week. I was going to get this anyways, but that joke literally made me buy it just a few seconds ago.

This is really dumb. This is the best HP movie thats not just cashing in on the books. Rifftrax is stupid. https://www.mst3kinfo.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_mad.gifhttps://www.mst3kinfo.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif

  17. Doug A Scott says:

I’ve yet to give a Rifftrax a shot (I know, my bad), but the fact that a Rifftrax is done for a film doesn’t necessarily mean that the guys think the film is bad. You can riff on pretty much any film, good or bad. Heck, even a couple of films from the series weren’t all that bad. Badly dated, maybe…

Yikes you try and be way over the top to poke fun of someone and people mistake you for the real thing!

    Gary, they’ve already done IJ4.

Some people just can’t detect sarcasm on the internet unless you put an inane smiley with it.

Gary, they already DID The Happening! I doubt they’ll do Meet Dave and Norbit, as those are both comedies and comedies are hard to riff on. I suppose it’s possible Bill might do like a “behind-the-scenes” commentary for Meet Dave, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

  23. majorjoe23 says:

I asked Bill about Meet Dave on the Rifftrax boards. Here’s what he said:

This is a fine idea, and I’d been thinking along the lines of something like this myself… though not solo, which doesn’t interest me too much. You’d need someone there to give me grief, after all!

Yeah, a standard riff on a comedy, even a failed comedy, wouldn’t be much fun. So that would probably be the way to go, a mix of regular DVD-extra type commentary and our usual mockery.

Two reasons I can think of right now why it wouldn’t happen, though:

    1) Honestly, I’m not sure if I want to spend that much time with DAVE again. Could be a little depressing. If I thought it would be incredibly interesting to film people, maybe… but I’m not confident it would be.

    2) I’m guessing it would be a tough sell for Rifftrax, and if we’re going to take a chance on a lousy seller there are better titles for what we do.

We’ll see. But I do appreciate the interest.

    cheerio,
    bc
