Sounds like something fun is brewing!

I wish Joel would not be so hard on himself about performing in front of the camera. His MST episodes were better because they were so casual. The fact that they were so lackadaisical as they ripped on the movies made it so much funnier and more fun. At some point later on, the show started trying too hard. It’s one of those things where less is more (tone wise). It’s just a show, they should really just relax!
The really difficult thing would be to replace Kevin Murphy, he is huge, maybe as the manic yin to a more mild-mannered yang from the host. But anyway, just trying to help!

Joel was super cool about taking the time for this interview, and he was also incredibly generous with his time with all the Monster Bash attendees, often times staying late at his table or just chatting it up with folks/fans for however long it took.
He and Arch Hall, Jr., shared the stage at one point, and the incident ended with somebody getting a pie in the face. :)

I think we even get something new out of this interview. This was the most thorough explanation of the editing that took place post writing room that I recall hearing. We now know Frank, Paul and Mary-Jo did the culling of the writing room brain storming sessions and line assigns.

Just now getting to listen to this.
Well done.
I hope everyone here takes the time to download it. Perfect for in the car, by the pool, or in my case, while on the run on foot from the law through the Ozark Mountains, using my portable solar charger to keep my electronics alive, to somehow feel … human.
Instead of feeling like some one-armed fugitive bigfoot spook light vaporware nut job looking for a cave entrance to the hollow earth dero camps.
Because that’s how’d I feel if I hadn’t listened to this interview.
So, thanks, Monster Kid Radio and all involved. I am, once again, sane.
If on the run.
