This is freaky and awesome! Just earlier today on my lunch break I was reading a review of this movie at the 1000 misspent hours and counting site (fun bad movie site) and then this evening I get the Rifftrax email about it. Fantastic!!! It’s a Bert I. Gordon film so that ought to tell you all you need to know.

Great fun! This is one of the best Riffs the guys have done in a while, mostly because the movie is goofy rather than dull. And it has some fairly good special effects for a 1950’s B movie. Plus, it has a little-known actor named John Agar!

I guess the guys felt they had given John Agar more than his fair share during the MST3K days, because they seem relatively easy on him here. Much of the riffing here centers around plot absurdities, as there are simply too many to count. The movie promises a lot, starting with the title; even the promotional materials show the “people” wielding a knife against a ravenous dog. But alas, the ending comes so quickly, and is so anti-climactic, that I found myself rewinding a few minutes to see if I missed anything. The jokes work well, though I can’t help but to think that this kind of movie (with its awkward plot contrivances, cheesy effects, and long silences) must be the easiest kind to riff.

It’s a Burt I. Gordon film all right, as the special effects and blasting Albert Glasser soundtrack indicate. But it feels a bit more like a Corman flick, which is no surprise since this is an American International picture.

Man, the guys have really been churning these out quickly lately. Not that I’m complaining, but it definitely seems they’ve been busy.

This is the movie B.I.G. shamelessly plugs in Earth Vs. The Spider, right?

#3 I agree, these have been coming out so quickly lately. Right when I’m wondering if it’s worth getting the commentary for “Willy Wonka” the Rifftrax guys are presenting all these new VODs. And this one sounds too goofy to miss.

(I’m still glad I replaced my ten-year-old desktop computer with a laptop. Now I can watch these with relative ease. I really should’ve poured strawberry wine coolers on the dino-computer till it died, just for laffs, but never quite got around to it and replaced it without ceremony….)

The fact that they had film clips of THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN as part of the film was worth the admission price to me.

A John Agar film? Fantastic! Always enjoy his work… or at least their work on his work.

Having read this I believed it was really informative. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this short article
together. I once again find myself personally spending a
significant amount of time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
