I discovered it was shot on video tape…(So you know it will not be very good.)
Quick question regarding what you all use for downloading your VODs: what download manager do you use? I was using DAP and I thought it worked great except I got tired of speedbit (which comes with DAP) taking over all of my browsers every time I turned my computer on so I got rid of it. I’ve got a backlog of VODs to download, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Imgburn is what Rifftrax actually recommends (or at least they used to.) It’s a free download on cnet.com (make sure you opt out of all the additional download options and updates) hope that helps.
Also–has anyone seen this one? The trailer looked pretty bleak and dull…looks like a tough one to sit through.
I always enjoy these kinds of flicks because there’s a sense of amateurism. That drives some people crazy, but as a former wannabe filmmaker, I have a certain amount of admiration for anyone who went whole hog and tried to make their own feature, however terrible (this is my own reason for loving Birdemic.) This is about the production level of a Don Dohler film here, except with no monsters, so if that’s your bag, go for it.
As a side note, Mike’s Facebook post on Terror at Tenkiller is quite interesting. If you were the kind of person who watched Super Mario Brothers and said “ungh, this is just a bunch of Hollywood noise; give me more MST3K-type flicks!” then I’d highly recommend this one. Overall, this is your run-of-the-mill VOD-type flick for Rifftrax, and there are plenty of very dull moments, but that’s good enough for me.
It’s disgusting the way RT is cashing in on tenkillermania.
SELLOUTS!
This one had several laugh out loud and have to pause the movie moments and two or three of them were just in the first 20 minutes. They are really firing on all cylinders here. There is no terror and not really any suspense either but that just makes it all the more fun and riffable.
@ #3- thanks for the info. My understanding, and what I’ve used it for, is that imgburn is for transferring it to the DVD. I’m needing a manager to download it so it doesn’t take 12 hours and then get interrupted which is what was happening.
We watched this on Friday, the riffing was great but not gonna lie this movie is BAD. There are some REALLY boring parts (think long establishing shots, boring conversations between the two female leads) but I think the guys do a good job of making it watchable. Not that we have come to expect anything at all story-wise from these films…
Warning: The end of this film may make you groan loudly. We’re not talking quite Monster-A-Go-Go bad, but…
Darkknight “free download manager” was the one I saw recommended on the rifftrax forums. It worked great for me on Cool As Ice.
