Another MST3k connection: John Ireland appears in this movie, and he played Cane in Gunslinger.

When I saw “Amazon” and “Donald Pleasance”, I assumed it was “Quest for the 7 Cities/Gold of the Amazon Women”, but checking IMDB, that was made for TV 6 years before this one. So this hits me as a bit of a letdown, which it shouldn’t because it’ll be hilarious, and they’ll surely get to Quest/Gold eventually.

Donald Pleasence just couldn’t say no, could he? I hope he gets to say pyooma.
I love that “National Geographic-style nudity” is a thing and we all know what it means.

Hmm, “National Geographic style nudity.” I wonder if this is a movie that I once saw on TV when I was a kid? It played on a UHF station and the nudity was simply blurred out.

I’ve been watching way too much Cinema Snob, because whenever I see the Amazon on film, I immediately expect “Cannibal Holocaust” to break out.

It’s probably just me, but I wish they would stick to riffing PG rated movies for VODs.
Nothing says laughter like lots of violence and gore. Then again, people apparently think Manos is a laugh riot, and it’s about turning women and children into sex slaves.

I don’t know. It doesn’t seen like the Master got up very often. And when his wives are awake they simply bicker.
I do wish that Rifftrax would get around to riffing The Norsemen. It’s another pile from director Charles B. Pierce. It’s got Lee Majors, a much younger Chuck Pierce as Majors’ kid brother. The story of Vikings discovering the new world, taking place in Nova Scotia but shot in Florida. Jack Elam plays a wizard or something.

Well, I’m waiting for Rifftrax to get around to riffing on “Deep Throat” or “The Happy Hooker Goes To Washington” and “Faces Of Death”….

So, I had this idea that the female dim-bulb in this movie might be the same lobotomy victim from Parts, on account of they both look like they fell asleep on a grinding wheel. No dice there, I just guess the chicken-beak nose was a popular nose-job in the late 70s.
I did find out that the reason this ditz can’t keep her accents straight is because she IS English and trying to do a southern accent. Probably having never lived in the south it just sounds like a cartoon character, or Paula Dean.

Topless jungle maidens make me pine for the days of combing through the Sears catalog for the women’s underwear section and being equally disappointed.

I recently saw that Clonus actress in a rerun of Happy Days. She played an ad model and Richie tricked her agent into sending her to what they thought was a photo shoot for Cunningham Hardware. I think you get arrested for doing something like that.

Didn’t see Donald Pleasance in the clip. Guess he was hiding in shame even while the movie was being filmed.

Can we put the “don’t go chasing waterfalls” and “that’s not a knife” jokes to rest?
I love the fact that Rifftrax is regularly putting out new material, but some of it is starting to feel “samey”

I Agree with the “that’s not a knife” joke. Even the Nick Nolte humor is starting to get close to being “samey” as you say. Although I find myself getting caught up in the Nolte Sketches they seem to do and still chuckle a bit. :P

I’m generally okay with the Nolte bits, because Mike sells it so well. And it’s not always just drunkenness and dumpsters, there is variety. Although his Nolte voice is the same as his Tom Waits voice that delivered what was probably my all time favorite Rifftrax riff during Carnival of Souls. Can we shut the damn calliope up? Play a drunk New Orleans’ prostitutes’ rib cage… and so on.
The problem with the knife or waterfall gag is they are too predictable.

I hope Rifftrax does “Porno Holocaust” one of these days.
