March 25, I am going to look forward to that date until it arrives. I don’t know if I’m the only one but I’ve already had quite a long wait for Hercules and the Captive Women. Now, the time is almost here, ahahaha.

They got The Puma Man! Another one I thought would never get an official release.

Wow – Shout!’s ability to generate miracles remains intact.

Whoa! Like everyone else, YAY PUMAMAN! …but also hooray for The Thing That Couldn’t Die (AKA The Thing That Died), one of my favorites, and Untamed Youth! And while Herc movies aren’t my cuppa tea, I think I’ll survive.

Hope Pumaman’s extras include the story of who the heck owns that mess…and why they haven’t cashed in yet. Fan-made multilingual DVD-Rs based on a hi-def European TV airing can be found online, but I think even the most over-entitled “pirate” (*eye-rolling snicker*) would pay up for a real DVD.

The very best case scenario concerning the Pumaman debacle is that they had to fly out to meet the current rights holders, and they made a mini-documentary about it titled WE FLEW LIKE A MORON.

I like to think that the rights holders of Pumaman look just like Covras’ henchmen in the movie.

@ 12: The one who falls at a 60 degree angle, breaking all the laws of physics?

Pumaman is one of my favorite episodes, and Untamed Youth is probably my 2nd favorite season 1 episode. Hercules and the Captive Women and The Thing That Wouldn’t Die are both above average episodes.

Great selection. Even better, by my count (And I’ve probably screwed it up), ten more sets and the complete series will have come out on DVD. (Admittedly, many of the older sets are out of print, so that’ll be their next project…)

Any word about the bonus features for the set?

  16. Flying Saucers Over Oz says:

Quick correction: I recounted and it’s about twelve more sets. Assuming everything goes as it’s been going, they’ll be wrapped up in about three years. What can possibly go wrong?

Well, I have the date marked on my calendar and have started my usual count down on my cell phone, so that I can always see just how long it will be it gets here! Get the straight jacket out, I’m going nuts!
