    Looks like a certain would-be sequel maker was completely cut out of the VOD version…

    Finally get to see “Norman” and “Cylinders” and laughed my butt off.

    STILL they don’t notice the clapboard at the beginning of the one scene with the couple making out.

    Like with CT’s version of “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” I keep missing the old riffs like they were part of the movie. However, many of these riffs were an improvement, like the riffs on Debbie’s dubbing. The differences between the two sets of riffs when it comes to Torgo is interesting… Joel and the Bots just made him out to be “weird” with “big knees…” The RT guys play up his resemblance to a drunk homeless hobo (and trot out the Nick Nolte stuff AGAIN).

    RT’s new take on it is still great fun… and that commercial… yikes.

    @cbrian38
    I inquired about a DVD release via their FB page and they said soon. Hang in there :-)

    During the original theatrical showing, I was hampered by remembering and anticipating the old MST lines. I was able to enjoy the RT take on Manos much, MUCH more the second time around.

    [gloria henderson voice] It’s FUNNY!

    Saw this for the first time last night. There might’ve been a few riffs I missed from the original MST3K episode, but the RiffTrax guys did a fantastic job doing this one again and I laughed quite a lot! The shorts were pretty good, too.

    Only problem I had was with streaming it from the website, as the video would stop loading at random intervals. Don’t know if it was my own internet connection or their servers were getting choked up, but it got pretty annoying. Guess I need to just download the whole video next time.

    One of my fav riffs: “Eat this, TMZ!”

  8. That was okay (a lot of flubbed riffs) but not a patch on the original.

    Loved it, but why did they cut out the live appearance of Torgo?

    As I am very old school I much prefer a prerecorded DVD. Anyway, I purchased the VOD and downloaded the DVD file and of course after three attempts to burn a disc equals three failures. So I don’t know if my laptop is a crappy DVD burner or the downloaded file is corrupt. It is getting harder and harder to support the artists when the technology leaves me feeling left out. Sorry for being a downer.

    I had no problems with the burn to disc feature. I was disappointed by the deleted Torgo pizza skit and the missing “Take it Easy” song.

    @9 and @11: See #2. Not sure how much Rifftrax is able to disclose without stirring up some shinola, but considering the legal wrangling that went on between the sequel makers and the guy who did the Manos restoration Kickstarter (causing an unfortunate delay with the release of that project as well), I think we can draw our own conclusions.

    As for me, I don’t miss the Torgo’s pizza skit or “Take It Easy” video at the end. They both seemed to be shoehorned in to the original live show anyway.

    The Take it Easy deletion was a real loss. It’s still going through my head anyway.

    What’s up with Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic not releasing dvd’s? It’s been forever! It’s not like they don’t have the material. I don’t do downloads.
