  1. Shouldn’t Mike and the gang be the ones riffing on the ghastly appearance of the CGI characters? Or do you actually think they haven’t even noticed? I mean the character’s faces are visible in like a fraction of a percent of the whole thing. That’s what they get for trying something new, I guess.

    @Mike #14

    Huh? All the shorts are already available VOD except for the new unreleased one.

    Anyway the CG stuff is horrible. Just horrible. Please abandon that idea IMMEDIATELY. The Rifftrax shorts are so good that I will probably by this DVD even though I own all of them already, but I definitely won’t be buying any further DVD’s or shorts if they have that terrible CG animation filling most of the screen. Or maybe I will buy the downloads and just take the MP3 audio version and overlay it on the video which you can download from the Internet Archive, and make my own CG-free versions to watch. But I’d hate to have to mess around like that just to make them watchable.

  3. I will only buy future Rifftrax discs if they *do* have those CG characters throughout.

    i believe the animation is only on the one “extra feature” short.

    overlooking “each child is different” for a best-of collection? weird. that short is a standout, imo.

    I live at 1613 Uncanny Valley so I’m getting a kick out of these responses.

  6. I think it’s Rifftrax aim to make you laugh, not dazzle you with their cgi savvy. If the cg characters disturb you so much, maybe that’s something to bring up to your shrink. It might be a breakthrough for you!

    The animations do not concern me like the do most others here. What concerns me is the sound mix. Whenever I have downloaded any of the VODs, the sound mix is truly awful.(I haven’t downloaded any of the ones on this disk, so the sound on them may be fine.) Either the soundtrack is too loud and I can’t hear the riffers, or the riffers are so loud that I turn the volume down, and then I can’t hear the soundtrack. It gets to be that I have to download the film from archive.org and manually mix the sound myself, which is truly a pain and why I’ve stopped using Rifftrax. It’s just too time consuming to make my own DVD. It’s also why this DVD interests me, but only if they fixed the sound. Does anybody know?

    The CGI is actually the thing keeping me from wanting this. Does anyone know if there will be a way to turn that off on the DVD?
