Frank Conniff and J. Elvis Weinstein are slated to be among the performers at a benefit comedy concert, “Laughing at Cancer,” Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. at the Aura Night Club, 12215 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, Calif. Other performers will include Michael Rayner and Cartoon Dump’s Erica Doering. Tickets are $10 at the door, with door prizes and auction items available throughout the evening. All funds raised at the event will be distributed evenly between Susan G. Komen National Foundation, the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition and Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital.
The event has been organized by John Scott Lewinski (who has written several nice pieces about MST3K for “Wired”), to give thanks to the various organizations that helped his mother during her cancer threat (she is now in remission following a double mastectomy). If you’re in the area, it sounds like a great night and a great cause.
Too bad for me that I’m not in California. Sounds like fun.
