Couple weeks shy of her 95th birthday. In the Twilight Zone, she played the poor woman under the bandages in Eye of the Beholder.

“THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER” That Twilight Zone gave me nightmares when I watched it one night when my parents went Christmas shopping.
It was the one year underwear was a good gift because I muddied up a bunch of ’em thinking about those pig nosed doctors and nurses. I swore they were looking in the windows of our house for weeks after. I like the #2 term— Constellation MST3K.
Boy this site is packed with cool information, MST had a lot of shows but the many people in those movies and in TV we watched growing is amazing.
One last thing, I work in a hospital now and none of the doctors or nurses look like that, but I’m sure now that I’ve flashed back to that childhood horror I’ll be having some real interesting dreams in the days ahead. Submitted for my approval, I don’t think so Twilight Zone.

Maxine was a fine lookin’ woman when she made that tz episode.
Btw, shouldn’t it have occurred to Burgess Meredith in the library episode
to break into an optometrist’s store or find some magnifying glasses.
Just sayin’.

Just looked at my handy Twilight Zone Companion…
Ms Stuart did the voice for the character under those bandages. When the bandages are removed, Donna Douglas is the woman who exemplifies the typical beauty. The director of this episode cast Maxine for her wonderfully expressive voice. It really was a terrific performances, and under bandages no less!
