Sounds great, especially an interview with Mr. B.I.G. I watched so many of his films on TV as a kid then again on MST3K. I’m very interested to hear that one especially.
I hope Shout! Factory does not offer something that makes me want to buy from them instead of Amazon on this set as they’ve really messed up the pre-orders for Volume XXV. It’s been a week since release and they still have not shipped my pre-order which I placed last September. I can’t get any kind of live customer service at all and the email responses I’ve had so far that reassured me it would ship by yesterday turned out to be less than accurate to say the least. I’m quite disappointed in their performance and customer service in this case. If they don’t ship soon I may have to ask for a refund and buy it from Amazon where it would have been cheaper and shipping would have been free.

I have the same problem with Shout! Factory. I’ve sent two emails and they haven’t even responded. I also pre-ordered in Sept…. sigh, good thing they are putting out awesome MST3K sets or i’d have to bring down the hammer….

Here’s an update containing the titles for the BALLYHOO extra’s featured in VOLUME XXVI:

“BERT I. GORDON: THE AMAZING COLOSSAL FILMMAKER” – Interview featurette

I hope you are enjoying the new INTRO’S and the JACK ARNOLD documentary on VOLUME XXV. There’s much more to come in 2013!

Done, my friends! (meaning, the pre-order via link…)

Shout! has done a fantastic job with the extras, balancing show-specific tidbits with documentaries that put the movies in context. As long as future sets include intros for every episode, “Life After” segments, and documentaries, I’ll be one happy MSTie.

Uh oh… no Mystery Science Theater Hour host segments for The Magic Sword?

I hope the Albert Pyun interview is amazing. Maybe they’ll ask him about Captain America.

@Chris: Yeah, I was counting on that too, since that’s the only way I’ve seen that ep.
“So get out your magic suh-woards, and…”
Could it be that MST-hour wraps are so standard now that they’re just not mentioning them? Here’s hopin’.

FYI: I believe the bonus disc w/ Vol. 25 is already sold out. At least that’s what I think I saw when I was on the Shout Factory website today. Wow! That was quick!

The extras sound great, but too bad they couldn’t have an interview with Kathy Ireland.Would’ve loved to hear her talk about the voice she had in the beginning of the movie..Thanks Shout!! :-)) :-)) :-))

The bonus features sound nice, though really I hope this DVD isn’t just one bonus feature on every disc.
Box cover looks nice though. Keep up the good work, Shout!

RE: 9 — Ah yes, the Albert Pyun Captain America that should have been MSTed but wasn’t. With its Italian Red Skull. Gotta love it…
And once again, Shout! accomplishes a miracle. The interview with Mr. BIG should be very interesting…

RE: 3 — Great collection of extras! Pre-order already done, and I really look forward to this collection.
Minor suggestion: You can call the Mole People documentary, “Letters from Sumeria: An Underground Classic.” I understand hyperbole works well in Hollywood… :-)

What about the MST Hour wraps!?!?! Well?!! Where are they?!?!

More intros please. I’ve always thought it would be fun, and a little perverse, if you could get some cast members together to do a commentary track over an entire episode. Riff on the riffing. How meta would that be?

I hope the life after segments continue. So, after we see the Joel, Mary Jo, Trace, Jim, Bridget and Paul Chaplin life afters, it’ll be interesting to see what happened to Colleen Henjum, Tim Johnson, Beez, Jef Maynard, Patrick Branseg, etc.

I second the above comment about the Life After MST3K segments. One of the pleasures of interviews with Kevin Murphy is that he always acknowledges the talents of the crew outside of the writers room. I would be very interested in these interviews, or simply conservations about their work on and memories of the show.
P.S. My pre-order of Volume XXV finally shipped!

My preorder of XXV from SF arrived today, so have faith…

Geez. Captain America! I remember wanting to see that thing because DC had Batman with Michael Keaton and Marvel had all these great characters and no big movie. You even saw the poster in the movie theater. Like to wipe the memory of that cable watching from my memory. Then you get the legalities of the Spider-man rights that tied everything up beyond the 90s related to the same company that put out Captain America. Albert Pyun might of directed that one, too.

Nice set!! The Magic Sword and alien from LA..i think are two of the most underrated episodes..id choose them over the Puma Man and Space Mutiny any day!..the Mole People is one of the best of the first half of Season 8..never saw Danger!death Ray tho..but awesome set!! Shout! Always puts together a great set full of classic episodes and lesser known episodes as well
