Also, there definitely is a Christmas special coming. This is their only hint about it…
One other note: You can relive the 2009 Christmas Shorts-stravaganza on Hulu.

A very special, Rifftrax Christmas… (who doesn’t love the Santa Skunk?)
(I’m onboard as long as it’s not live streaming — need to get it to my media player so my wife and I can watch while we eat and get drunk :>).

I think I have a good idea of what’s going to be riffed this Christmas (and I’m sure a lot of MST3K fans are going to get a kick out of it).

Absolutely shows me 100% of what I’ve been doing wrong lately. TY

If it’s spelled “resume” why is it pronounced “REZ-uh-may”?

This character looks familiar. I think this may be a K. Gordon Murray movie.

Looks like they’re doing Santa’s Enchanted Village. Scroll down on this link and you’ll see the same Stinky the Skunk character.

Yep. #9 is most likely right. I just didn’t want to spoil it for anybody who likes surprises.

At the end of one of my favorite books about media, “Mental Hygiene”, there’s an epilogue about how the old instructional shorts gave way to truly insipid crap at the end of the 1960s. “Perc, Pop and Sprinkle” is exactly the kind of short the book is talking about. Compare it to, say, “Shy Guy” (one of the codifiers of the genre). At least in “Shy Guy”, there was actually a message and lessons that could be gleaned from it despite the stilted presentation. This is just… pointless.

Nice to see somebody else read Ken Smith’s Mental Hygiene. I recommend it to all MSTies. The book ably puts the weirdness of classroom films in perspective with insight and healthy appreciation of the hilarious way they’ve aged.

The catalog of shorts at the end could provide Rifftrax enough material for the next ten years worth of shorts.

What? You mean this short isn’t going to help me find a job!!!!!!!!???

Well, if you guys are right about “Santa’s Enchanted Village” I’m a touch disappointed (at least if this is the only thing riffed).
I was looking forward to something more full length (the link says 13 minutes). I mean, I’m glad and all for any shorts the RT crew come up with, but for our Christmas feast we like to have at least 60 minutes of stuff (I guess we’ll watch this new one last and rewatch last year’s offering. Or perhaps we do the MST3K “SC V. Martians”, which is *always* good although way too well worn by now).

Actually there are some full length K Gordon Murray presentations that feature Stinky the Skunk. They might be doing the one that recycles Santa Claus footage and puts a bunch of the fairy tale shorts together. Either way we’re in for some riffed K Murray stink!
