IT’s always this time of year that I miss those turkey day marathons the most.

Happy Turkey Day to all my American friends! Wishing you all lots of good conversation, excellent food and drink, and plenty of riffing around the family DVD player.

Thanks to DAP i guess for posting the ’91 intros. Since they’re not in the Broadcast Schedule Archive, here’s the transcripted schedule for anyone interested in replicating it (i always try to follow one turkey day marathon):

Jungle Goddess
Side Hackers
Rocketship X-M
Rocket Attack USA

We could never afford cable in those days, so we never got to see the Turkey Day Specials. I always feel wistful, when people mention them. I must have missed something really special.

What was the complete Turkey Day ’95 line-up? I love watching the intros included so thoughtfully on the Night Of The Bloodbeast DVD (I’m thankful for Shout Factory – those guys are swell.), but there’s at least one where Clay doesn’t actually give the title of the movie.
It’s become a Thanksgravy tradition for me and the missus to watch 701T and I’m thinking about trying to replicate the marathon over the weekend (if work and travel permit). Sounds better than going to the mall with all the crazies. You just know TV’s Frank was a Black Friday early bird.
Cheers, friends.

Goshzilla–looks like the missing one was “Outlaw”–just check the lists here.
Here’s an idea for a Weekend Discussion–since they didn’t have T-day marathons in the Sci-Fi channel years, what would an ideal Season 8/9/10 marathon include?

We were hooked on the Turkey Day marathons after watching the first one in 1991. As always I’m making my own now with home video. Fugitive Alien is running now. First Spaceship On Venus is on the playlist along with other greats including Rocketship X-M, Rocky Jones Manhunt In Space and maybe some Gamera and Pod People too.

Ahh the tradition of staying up 30 hours solid and watching (mostly) reruns of a show I religiously taped and already watched all year around. A tradition I can’t entirely shake. Happy Turkey Day!

I limit myself to only four shows for Turkey Day now. I have to save room for dinner and football and WKRP and Bob Newhart and Charlie Brown and…
Happy Thanksgiving!

I’d love to see all of these together as an extra on an upcoming Shout MST boxed set.

# 5 bad wolf check out Ward E on the upper left on this page. Has a great list of all kinds of stuff including Turkey Day movie line ups.
I gotta say I sure do miss those days, those early years back in ’91 and ’92 when I was in my 30’s. Just flopping on the couch in our tiny little apartment in Greenwood Mass. watching and recording the show it was like it would never end. And well in a way it did end but thanks to Rhino and Shout it lives on. Thanks to this page and the folks that put it together and the folks that put things on this page it lives on. Gone is my youth I fall asleep to the movies most of the time but I try to watch 1 or 2 each day to try and relive those days 20 years gone by. I suffer from deep bouts of depression and I’m stuck in a job that drains me everyday. But when I put on a MST DVD I feel connected to the past,to a time when my life had meaning and my job was great. And I was always turning people onto this show, sort of like when people never heard of a certain group and you played a CD for them and they became big fans of that music and told others, that’s what the show was like. It got me through the loss of my Mother, a bad move to another state that was the worst thing I ever did and most of all it got me through my wife’s cancer and several illnesses I had over the years. All I had to do was pop in a tape or a DVD and hear the theme song and I was transported back to a safer time and all I had to was sit through some of the worst movies ever made but Joel / Mike and the ‘Bots made everything go away for a while. Sorry this was so long.
But thanks to all connected to this great show, and this web site for this I’m very thankful. xoxoxo Ross

Another thing from the 90s I wished I’d taped and kept in a box so I could convert it to DVD later. So many wasted opportunities.
