Do I have to be naughty or nice to get this under my Christmas Tree?

This is odd — while my wife and I did attend the Christmas show (and do remember what seems to be all the stuff in the clips) this pretty obviously is NOT that Live show but the canned version. So they redid all the same stuff? Why wouldn’t they have just taped the live show and released that?
I always prefer the live shows to be released so we can hear the laughter. This isn’t a good choice. I wonder what they were thinking here (perhaps there were some rights issues. They MUST have had it recorded, because aren’t all Fantom events recorded?).

um – this was never a Fathom event

What? Are you telling me I dreamt this?
I *did* see these Rifftraxed shorts — I *know* I did. Did I not see these live? (No, I’m pretty sure I did. How else could I have seen them?).
Perhaps someone else can comment on this. Am I in the Spock’s beard reality?
(Besides, why did Sampo then say “last year’s Christmas show”? Or are you saying this was a Live Rifftrax event but it was hosted by someone other than Fantom? Even so, it should have been recorded, right?).

Those shorts have been available on DVD for years now. This is a movie.

It was streamed on their website last year. (A version without the non-Riff segments was made available on Hulu at around the same time.) The live show to which you seem to be referring took place in 2009 and has already been available on DVD for a couple of years now.

I bought the burn to DVD Thursday and watched last night. It wasn’t quite as funny as Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny but had its moments. The movie itself was painfully bad, which sometimes makes it harder to riff.

I saw this on HULU last year on Christmas Eve. It was pretty funny. I’ve been thinking about buying the mpeg & burn-at-once download of it for a while, but there’s still a lot of VOD’s I havent seen yet, and I keep getting those instead…Someday when I’ve seen everything else I’ll probably get it (as well as the Reefer Madness/More Dangerous than Dynamite live show, which I also enjoyed on HULU).

Right, I see now — I’ve had this for quite some time (the only thing that was different is that it’s available on DVD, whereas I had it on VOD).
For a while I was excited they had done something new :<(

Has there been any info leaked at all about what they are doing for Christmas this year? On the Rifftrax Facebook page they recently made a vague comment that made it sound like there might actually be another Christmas live show coming up, but I would think they’d have announced something like that by now. Hopefully it’s not an online streaming event. I’d much rather see it as a VOD than an online streaming event.

I was mad that i missed the streaming live version of this- usually some dumb family event eats up that any given evening. I snagged this up on dvd immediately- it is amazing how quickly rifftrax stuff ships, I ordered friday morning from Michigan, arrived monday morning. Anything else i get shipped from california takes a week!
I have seen the hulu version previously, but i will watch the dvd over the holiday methinks ;)
