Cassville, Mo. — Character actor Norman Grabowski died here Oct. 12. He was 79. MSTies will remember him as Skin, one of Mamie Van Doran’s gang, in the movie in episode 601- GIRLS TOWN.
In addition to appearing in many films produced by Albert Zugsmith and Walt Disney, and, later, guest starring roles in several TV shows, Grabowski was also known as an award-winning custom car designer. Among his most famous creations was the car driven by Edd “Kookie” Byrnes in the TV series “77 Sunset Strip.”
I watched GIRLS TOWN recently. RIP

Wow, I lived for 25+ years not far at all from Cassville. Who knew?

He may indeed have been quite the character, but I believe you meant “character actor,” Sampo.
One of the good, dead ones.

Woo-Woo Grabowski has been part of my world since the fifties. You owe it to yourself to go to his website normsnews–bring a couple of hankies. What a guy.

I love this man! I’ve seen him in “Blackbeard’s Ghost” and the Merlin Jones films from Disney, and a Monkees’ episode. What a bummer!

“Either Jerry Van Dyke or a trained chimp.”
It’s amazing how much background there is behind a person you see on film for a few minutes.

Wow, odd timing as Girls Town was the experiment up for discussion this week. RIP.

I was wondering what his first name was. Thanks, Mr. G.

Grabowski had a bigger, speaking role in another Mamie snigger-fest called Sex Kittens Go to College, a truly awful piece of Zugsmith trash that also features John Carradine and Martin Milner!
Woo-Woo plays a football hero that gets so nervous around girls that he faints. No, no subtext here, nosirree!
It’s not available through any legitimate source, but it can be found on the net for a price. My copy has an extra 10 minutes of strippers getting topless (obviously for non-American markets) for an audience of a monkey and a robot. No, no subtext here, nosirree…..
