Finally, a Rifftrax show in Los Angeles! While I really want to see this, I doubt I’m going to be able to convince any friends to go with me considering the ticket price. Have all Rifftrax shows been that expensive?

Way too expensive for this. The live MST3K show would’ve been well worth it, but not this tripe…

“The live MST3K show would’ve been well worth it, but not this tripe…”
It’s way too expensive, I agree. Apologies. But for better or worse, it’s no more expensive than most live shows like this.
As for “tripe”… ouch. Not sure why you’d say that, unless you saw a live show of ours and hated it. Did you? If so, sorry you were disappointed.
I think we show people a pretty good time. We sure try to.
Peace.

Maybe he thinks you don’t TRIPE hard enough!

Maybe he’s a fan of tripe, but just prefers another band. You know, THAT tripe.

D’oh. Brand, not band.

Also, “Plan 9” is TRIPE for the picking.

I’m a tightwad myself, I have never been interested in buying a RT download and I liked it more when the guys riffed on stuff that wasn’t “fish in a barrel” Wood/Corman/etc. fare (not to say that “Plan 9” isn’t funny, out-there and notorious for a reason, but the ‘how in God’s name did they find this’ factor MST3K had at times added a lot to the geekery), but I’d be down for this. $25 isn’t THAT much and I have been to these Egyptian Theater and Aero Theater events. These guys are serious about restoring old films, projecting them the way they should be seen and have a “something for everybody” approach to the movies they screen. I even have met a lot of B-movie movie “celebrities” at these two places. Trust me, you get what you pay for. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t work there, by the way  .

Bill and all others associated with Rifftrax Live….please consider an East Coast appearance, specifically the Baltimore/DC area. I would be willing to pay up to $33.18 per ticket…(consider the additional $8.18 an incentive)

I have seen this show live at Comic-Con this past summer and it was well worth the ticket price. Granted, Ed Wood is like shooting “Fish in a barrel,” to quote below, but it takes skill to make it look so easy. You will enjoy this, I promise you.
My only complaint was the lack of “bumper” material. As well as being great observational comedians DURING the films, Mike, Kevin and Bill
should do a little more before and after it. We like teh Riffs, and want to hear more from the riffers.

So excited! I got my ticket already. For those of you who feel it’s too expensive, you can get tickets at goldstar.com for $13.50. Here’s a link for a free membership: https://www.goldstar.com/join?p=F787785RP
Bill, what you do is not tripe – it brings smiles to my life and many others, and demonstrates skillful humor. Thanks much.

There’s a 5 o’clock show, you say?
Hmmmm.
Let me check the bus schedules.
(Loser Status…Confirmed)
Can Mass Transit get Bix back to Torrance after the show?
I know, that sounds like a “Riding With Death” line.

Maybe he was talking about Plan 9 being “tripe.”
And as for the ticket price – sure it’s expensive, but it would be a chance to meet Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett! To finally get to meet those three guys would be to complete my bucket list! It’s a short bucket list that begins and ends with meeting the Rifftrax guys, but still, I would never have to consult that darn list again!

$27 ain’t bad. It’s the plane fare to LA that’s a real killer. East coast?

I think what he meant to say was that Rifftrax isn’t up to par with MST3k. It just feels like something’s lacking… and no, it doesn’t have anything to do with the sketches. Personally, I feel like they need to focus on writing better jokes for their releases instead of rushing to get 5-6 out per month. And the next time Kevin comes up with a fart joke, he should be tied up and stuck into an airtight room with a dozen of the gassiest dogs around. That’ll teach him!

Did someone really just mention a “bucket list”? *sigh*

I agree, the BUCKet stops here

Yeah, $27 was a wee steep (meaning I didn’t get any casual takers to tag along) but WELL worth it. Big laughs throughout and I got Mike, Kevin and Bill — all three as nice as could be — to sign my 20th Anniversary Box, which I fortunately received from Amazon yesterday.
I saw the Cinematic Titanic show earlier in the year as part of the LA Film Festival, and the Rifftrax guys sounded more spontaneous and relaxed and less scripted. You can sense the rapport between the three, that’s for sure.
No tripe in attendance, save for a few choice mentions of Patrick Swayze.

I would love to go to one of these shows! East coast, please! But I would prefer a different Rifftrax than Plan 9, it’s not nearly as good as a lot of the others. Still, a chance to meet Mike and Bill and Kevin! For that, I wouldn’t mind the price.
