The show was awesome ! Doll Squad was the perfect train wreak of a film for the night. There’s something about low budget films of the 1970s, the wacky clothes, the canned 70s music that just bring out the best in the gang. Was there front row center with the family , laughed a good solid 3 hours and got a kink in the neck from staring up at the screen..was worth every penny! Thanks to the Cinefamily for being such cool hosts , Dave Gruber Allen for the Hikinks and the CT Gang for the memories !

I hate to gush, but I’m going to gush.

I got there late (work,) and arrived just in time for the start of the movie, so I can’t comment on the pre-movie festivities. However, the CT simply killed it on Doll Squad. Just killed it. Easily CT’s best riffing effort, and frankly, probably the best live-riffing effort I’ve ever seen. This one easily had me gut-laughing more than “Jack The Giant Killer,” my previous recent favorite.

The theater, though large, was pretty much packed, and everyone was just gushing about how awesome the show was afterwards.

Doll Squad was perfect fodder, largely reminiscent of “Angels’ Revenge,’ and with enough skin to make Cabot smile. The audio was completely incomprehensible in some places, but I’m sure we’ve all gotten use to that.

I didn’t notice them filming this one, no idea of a pending DVD release, but I will highly, highly recommend it when it comes out.

Oh, and just to rub it in, the theater was walking distance to my house. :P

Really was a great show. Special surprise guest at the end, Francine York – star of “The Doll Squad” was such a great sport about it. If you got in line to say “hi” to the Titanics, she was there too, and handing out autographed business cards. Mr. Gruber Allen included Mary Jo and Trace in some stand up stuff, and Frank and Josh did some stand up stuff as well, before the show started. I especially enjoyed Josh’s “Elvis Costello” version of the MST3K theme song! And what a movie – I love the over-the-top overacted dying scenes the best (when one is a truly bad actor, dying scenes are the perfect opportunity to really shine…), sometimes the background noises would drown out the dialogue, and there are scenes with rats in cages where it sounded like every rat was given its own microphone, lots of skimpy-outfit costume changes, big hair that could be seen from outer space, and the worst explosion effects you’ll ever see in a movie – I CANNOT wait til this one makes it to DVD!

Hi Everybody! Long time lurker, first time poster. Saw my first live show last night and it was a blast! So fun seeing the entire crew pitching in in various configurations to warm up the crowd. The movie was perfect for the CT gang, just interesting enough to keep watching with lots and lots (and lots) of riffing material and the gang was on fire. It was great fun to experience the show with a large crowd. Met the CTers after the show and they are all super nice. Then as a bonus I met Dan Harmon (creator of Community) on the way to the parking garage, he was there for the show as well and he’s super nice too! All in all a great evening.

I saw them live two years ago at the Largo for East Meets Watts. In comparison, I thought the Largo show was more consistent with the big laughs and I really enjoyed the smaller, more intimate setting of the Largo compared to the grand Saban Theatre. Having said that, there were still plenty of good laughs to be had and I really did enjoy singing along with Josh for his tribute to Elvis Costello. Also, Mary Jo’s hand choreography for Ace of Base’s “I Saw The Sign” was too cute for words.

The Show and Tell was just incredible. Completely inspiring and amazing. There aren’t adjectives. Fun to see TV Wheel as it was meant to be seen as well as clips from X-Box. And Joel’s sideshow presentation on his search for the perfect ventriloquist dummy was hilarious.

He brought up Wayne White and the two talked about how they plan to work on an art instillation together. Also very excited by talk of Joel brining Statical Planets or other projects to the festival next year.

I agree that it was really inspiring – could you imagine just hanging out with brilliant creative minds like that and bouncing ideas around? That would be so cool.
