Anyone out there see the Jerry-Joel special that was produced back in the 1980’s? I used to have the VHS tape, but can no longer find it. It was a bit uneven, but, showed the true comic genius both men would display in their respective 1990 hit TV shows.

Trickymutha — yes, I still have that special on VHS…somewhere. I think it was called “Jerry Seinfeld: Stand-Up Confidential”. I remember liking it because it was one of the few HBO stand-up comedy specials I could watch with my mom.

Why is Jerry Seinfeld looking at Michael Richards that way? He didn’t say that word again, did he?

First of all… Terry Jones! Woo!
Second… Colin Quinn? Really? That black hole of comedy? What the hell was his show on CC back in the day? The destitute, if not dead person’s Politically Incorrect? The one where legit talented and hilarious comedians would go on and you could SEE the funny steaming off them and disappearing forever into the yawning chasm of anti-funny that is Colin Quinn. I remember watching an episode with Greg Proops on it and was just WAITING for him to haul off and punch Quinn in the f#$%ing teeth. He really, really looked like he wanted to badly.
People didn’t hate you because you replaced Norm, Quinn. They hated you because you replaced Norm and SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED.
Oh, and Joel is in the series too, so yay.

…Oh. That’s Michael Richards.
It LOOKED like Terry Jones.
I’d really rather it be Terry Jones.

M The show was TOUGH CROWD W/COLIN QUINN. He always had his buddies on, 2 are dead now. Patrice O’Neil and Greg Geraldo. I don’t remember it being as bad as you say. Sounds like Colin took you’re lunch money as a kid!!

Awesome! I now for a reason to bother with Jerry Seinfeld again. This looks like it should be funny. Wait, it will! Joel’s in it! ;-)

Maybe we’ll find out when CT is planning to riff on “Flaming Globes of Sigmund”.

Wow, Seinfeld looks really old.
Something tells me that Mike will never be invited to this “webseries”.

@ 14 – Why would he? Mike never worked with Seinfeld & Seinfeld most likely doesn’t know / care who the hell the other guys who worked on his old pal Joel’s TV show were.

Okay, okay, okay, it was just a random thought. Spare my life, please.

This looks like it has the same format as Robert Llewellyn’s Carpool web series. I like the interview-in-a-car style, leads to some candid conversations. The only possible drawback is when a tricky traffic situation comes up and the host is a bit distracted. ;)

Love that there is no pretentiousness on Joel’s part, but rather that he’s yawning.

Joel’s kind of bored – and he’s right before Larry David.
Which is disturbing in itself…

May I be the first to say forget KEVIN BACON, it’s six degrees of JOEL HODGSON.
