At his recent appearance at the Colonial Theater, Joel riffed the trailer for “The Blob,” as a promo for the town’s annual “Blobfest.”

I wonder if the blob is strawberry, cherry or raspberry flavored? I hope it’s raspberry. That’s my favorite.
That was neat. :-)
Do you wear a raspberry beret? You know the kind you find in the second hand store….
LOL…. what d’ya know.. the booger’s eating ME!
No, unfortunately, I’m a winter.
Saw The Blob when I was eight years old. Scared the absolute POOP out of me. :pain: I can’t wait to see it with Joel so he can dispel some of my engrained fears.
Hey, folks. Has anyone else noticed that Joel is pretty much the coolest person ever?
actually fun fact: the blob was gravy flavored, no foolin’ they used instant gravy mix.
“there is a 2 hour documentary on the colorizing of her slippers”
All is good when Joel does his thing.
Well, as long as it can be spread on toast…
Steve McQueen’s girlfriend in the The Blob was played by none other than Aneta Corsaut(RIP) who went on to play school teacher Helen Crump on the Andy Griffith Show. She was cool.
Was the old guy getting eaten (“the booger’s eating me”) the same actor as Remedy from Last of the Wild Horses?
Tangental related: The LA Connection (the guys that overdubbed old movies, rather than talk over them) did a full length redub of The Blob, renamed Blobbermouth. It was on Netflix a while back.
Hope Shout! Factory includes this as an extra on a future box set..oh,please,oh,please,oh,please!
I’ve seen Blobermouth. They gave the Blob a big cartoon mouth that constantly tells lousy old one-liners. This 2 minutes is astronomically funnier.
They showed this at the Colonial a few weeks after that Joel show, before they showed the “The Beast of Yucca Flats” episode. At that point, the sound was pretty bad to be honest, so I’m happy they could show it in real time here so you can get all the jokes.
“Isn’t it enough that he’s dead?”
@15 Sharktopus..You’re right about “Blobermouth.” Not as funny as I thought it was going to be..Have you heard of/seen “J-Men Forever”? That’s funnier…http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080940/ Check it out!
I was there for the Colonial event. Joel was a lot of fun. I hope the whole event eventually gets a release somewhere (preferably on one of the upcoming MST3K box set releases).
WTF!??This guy iz totaly riping off Rifftrax!!!!!
@ Gary: J-Men Forever has been on my Netflix queue for quite a while. I should bump it up toward to the top.
#12, yes, his name is Olin Howlin. He’s also in the giant ant movie “Them!” (1954), where he plays a recouperating drunk in a hospital who helps the authorities narrow down their search for the ants to the LA sewers. He’s good in both films, not so much in “Wild Horses.” But it’s not really his fault there.
I had Jello today.
Wow! Bruce Campbell doesn’t age! There he is at 1:24 trying to fight off the blob of strawberry jam with a shotgun!
