How about favorite vehicle from any mst3k episode and why? Open it up to anything: spaceship, boat, motorcycle. I’d probably pick the ‘cop car’ from “It Lives by Night” (just because “the Impala DRONES into action!”) or perhaps the cult’s car (full of potato olay containers) from “Final Sacrifice.”
Meanwhile, “S.” suggests:
How about the best and worst chases in MST3K movies? I mean car chases, zamboni chases, foot pursuits, etc.
For vehicle, I gotta pick Commando Cody’s jet pack. For chase, I’ll go with Commando Cody as well, the one to the “BRIDGE OF DEATH.”
What about you?
#26 I totally agree Sinister Urge needed more Klein. Klein needs entire trilogy to encompass the awesomeness of Klein.
I’m gonna have to vote for MEGA-WEAPON for best vehicle. It’s hard to pick a best chase scene since there’s so many awesome chases to choose from.

Best vehicle? You could do a lot worse then picking the Bacchus 3.
Best chase? The improbably large man looking for Bobby in “The Creeping Terror”. Bobby? Bobby! Bobby. Bobby! Bobby?!

Best chase: the Rex Dart: Eskimo Spy scenes from ‘Godzilla Vs Megalon’.
Worst chase: the hide and seek game between Ivan and the Mushroom Guy from ‘Jack Frost’.

Reading the responses reminded me of some cars I’d forgotten.
As far as cars are concerned, it’s a tie between the car of TOMORROW from “Design for Dreaming” and Diabolik’s black sports car. They’re not a battleship gray 1964 Aston Martin DB-5 with accessories, but they’re OK.
As for other vehicles, I’m excluding the ships from “Space Mutiny” as they could be considered stolen property from “Battlestar Galactica”. Bacchus 3 was pretty cool-looking, but I’ll go with the Eagle transports from “Cosmic Princess”. Those (and their military counterparts, the Mark IX Hawks) were my favorite pre-“Star Wars” spacecraft.
As far as favorite chase, I’ll have to give that some thought.

Transportation: Forklift from Fugitive Alien, for all the joy it inspired!
Chase scene: The foot and boat chase in Final Justice, honestly it was like a third of the bloody movie!

Best vehicle has to be the Mustang from Mitchell — even its hood got a credit!
As for best chase, I’d say the Rowsdower chase scene from Final Sacrifice — will the cultists catch Zap before his heart gives out? The tension is palpable, the hypertension equally so!

I think my favorite chase is in Teenage Strangler, where Jimmy chases Curly at speeds reaching well into the teens! Curly driving from the passenger side(?!?), then apparently crashing and then shooting himself? Brilliant!

Hm. For vehicles I like the ship in Space Mutiny. The inside of it looked like miles of warehouse basements, but the outside looked suspiciously like the Battlestar Galactica. As far as chases go, definitely Mitchell chasing an enemy boat over Mexican waters in a helicopter with a big buoy that served as a wrecking ball.

Since Commando Cody’s flying sequences were actually from the 1949 serial KING OF THE ROCKET MEN, I’m going to have to go with Commander Cody”s HOT ROD LINCOLN as my favorite vehicle.
Favorite chase? THE LAST CHASE.

Diabolik has the coolest cars. Yeah, you know it’s true. Now I’ve gotta go make love on a pile of change.

The Angel’s Revenge Van. I think it’s pretty cool, but if I saw that thing when I was a kid, I would have loved it.
I’m somewhat fond of Petey the Plane from The Skydivers.

I’ve done the chase recs up at @6 so I need to do a favorite vehicle. I think its in the SINISTER URGE and go with the Police car that changes from a Ford to a Chevy between scene cuts.

I’d have to go with the chase scene from FINAL SACRIFICE where it’s noting but boots getting in and out of cars, accompanied by the riff from Crow: “I’m losing track of all the crappy cars.”

I’ll have to go with “Larry Miller’s” Mustang in “Mitchell.” I’m a Ford man, pure and simple. Me Grandfather wurrked in the Tool and Die Department in Dearborn, MI, so the love for Ford was pumped into my veins.

Chase: At the end of Wild Rebels, where numerous policemen
are killed by the bad guys (who for once seem to have
good aim) as opposed to poor targeting by the policemen.

Favorite vehicle: the “snow-monkey” spaceship on “Future War”.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned the movie that was loaded with magical vehicles. There was the flaming red horse conjured up by Ilmarinen…the boat painstakingly carved over a period of years from a giant oak, because it was the only possible means of getting to Pokiola…the flaming Bullwinkle boat that Ilmarinen, er, whips up on the spur of the moment, uh, for the trip back from, er, Pokiola…the magic-cape-powered kidnapping boat…the witch Louhi’s muffler-dragging jet pack, or whatever it was she was using to fly…

For the chase, I would say “Soultaker.” No scene in particular, because basically the whole movie was one big chase…and Jim McMahon’s car was “rockin!”

Best car – gull-wing Benz in the screaming skull – cool factor off the charts
worst car – Destroyer floor waxer from space muntiny – speeds of 3

Gamera, who doesn’t want to ride on the back of that bon-vivant of the Kaiju world that is Gamera.
Megaweapon, of course.
The Rowsdower Mobile, Canadian industry at its finest.
The Mom 2000, from Angels Revenge.
The toy submarine from Danger! Death Ray.

As my favourite chase: not Mst3k per se, but related. The hippie van chase in Laser Mission, where the captain from Space Mutiny chases Brandon Lee and the daughter of Ernest Borgnine through Soviet- Nazi-Cuban Angola. Explosives boxes and fruit carts everywhere!

Yeah, the chase scene with Rex Dart: Eskimo Spy is epic. I mean, it’s kinda James Bond-ish in a way. He drives down steps, through a building (with a jump no less) and does some pretty neat slide jobs. I mean it, I can’t do some of that stuff in my Miata.
My father always liked to tell me of when he went shopping for a new convertible sports car. He was considering the Corvette, the Thunderbird, and the little Mercedes. He ultimately bought the ‘Vette, because his Navy buddies would have teased him about how slow the MB was. But he did tell me that at the time, they had the 300 gullwing in the dealerships, but it was too expensive for him to buy. I asked him how much it was, considering he was buying a Corvette. He told me, “about $5000.” Nowadays, heck, I got 5K buried in my backyard!
I gotta add that I love the chase scene from Commando Cody where Tom sneezes. “Stirred up my ROMs real bad.”

The boat chase in Final Justice (the first boat chase, there were two)
Mike – “There’s a bunch of armed nuns on jet skis out their waiting for him”
Crow – “You know nets are over rated weapons”

Gonna have to go with This Island Earth and trying to outrun an intergalactic flying saucer in a car, then a prop plane. Yeah, this won’t end well at all.

Where’s the love for the submarine aircraft from Mighty Jack?

The neptune men had a pretty effective warship; it looked like a few air filters glued together, but amazing firepower what with the cluster bombs and the ejecting pierogies of death. and Prince of Space had that 4cylinder car/spaceship that brought to mind the Oscar Mayer weeniemobile, a little better than the mini amphibious car that Prince escapes into the ocean with in Agent From HARM.

Love Commander Cody’s jet pack…
However my fave ride in any episode is from a host segment in Teenagers From Outer Space – the “really boss-looking space ship”. The pilot bit it but the ship was super cool.

First thought was of Space Mutiny’s floor-waxer battle between Burnt Rumproast and Calgon/Kalgan/Pygar/Diabolik in that sewage plant sub-basemen–uh, bowels of Acitcalag Ratselttab.
But for sheer dips**ttery, you can’t beat the match between Lee Majors and Burgess Meredith in The Last Chase.

The motorcycle chase in Hellcats is fun, especially the bad makeup when the one biker gal wipes out and they have the really fake blood on her. The chase in Wild Rebels through the woods and swamp are also silly fun. Then there’s that cart chase in Space Mutiny, so hilariously goofy looking. And who can forget the chase of the girl near the beginning of Cave Dwellers where she gets shot with an arrow in the chest and starts limping? So many hilariously bad chases in MSTed movies.

How about a dune buggyish death match between Arch Hall, Jr.’s
water wheel vehicle and the Girl in Gold Boots buggy?

So many favorites. I’ll have to agree with the floor waxers from “Space Mutiny” and the slo-mo car chase complete with polite turn signals in “Mitchell.” Also the ’round and ’round the block pursuit in “Werewolf.”
My favorite line, though, regarding any chase is from “Teenagers from Outer Space”: “Menopause is like a speeding car chase.”

I like the fake truck Graber was driving in Commando Cody – y’know, with the false back and the atomic ray gun. That’s truck’s got ALL the candy!

The Hot Merging Action of Mitchell accompanied by Tom’s ersatz 3M promotional voiceovers. Truly surreal.

I can’t believe y’all have forgotten about the tricked-out Estrogen A-Team Van with Turd Gun and rear-mounted bazooka from “Angel’s Revenge”. Maybe you forgot because you just gave in and were looking at the breasts.
James Earl Jones’ convertible caddy that was built into his living room from “City Limits” was memorable also.
Finally, The never-ending Flying Rice Chex attacking Space Chief / Upper Atmosphere Chief / Barely off the Stupid Ground Chief from “Invasion of the Neptune Men also provided a mind-numbingly long sequence that featured the destruction of the Hitler Building.

@ #88: Actually, the van from Angels’ Revenge is brought up in posts #19, #61, and #70. Always pays to use Control-F first to see if something has already been mentioned. :shame:

@65: My favorite part about the chase scene at the end of Wild Rebels was how Rod Tillman could make the station wagon tires squeal so loudly on a dirt road.
Worst vehicle might be Rod Tillman’s race car. That thing couldn’t make a lap without crashing and exploding. Did he put nitroglycerin in the trunk and disconnect the steering system before each race?

I’d have to go w/ the ultra slow chase in “mitchell”. W/ chases like that, who needs sleeping pills? I only wish I had a car that could fix it’s own headlight like the one in that scene…i’d save a fortune in car repairs! lol.

Lack of appreciation (only 1 mention!) for the Amphicat, the hideous orange/yellow amphibious ATV seen in such episodes as BLOOD WATERS OF DR. Z (“I need to go pick up the rest of the Banana Splits”) and GIRL IN GOLD BOOTS (“So they blew the fifteen bucks on a dune buggy rental.”).
“You can say that ag–“

The best chases were in all 3 Coleman Francis films. Guys in airplanes shooting their targets on the ground. Shoot first, ask Christian Slater.
Best vehicles: Santa’s sleigh in “Santa Claus” with the insane laughing plastic reindeer. Also one of the cars in “Design for dreaming” The extension of my manhood car!!

i actually have a tie for worst chase for 2 different reasons…
worst #1: Meela running away from evil john saxon’s goons in Cave Dwellers. they were close enough to lightly fling an arrow and hit her in the upper torso and she “limps” away and escapes them. They run twice as fast as she does… typical.
and worst #2: the chase scene from Danger! Death Ray! Fart is ACTUALLY chasing them, technically… but its mind-numbingly slow. Ba-Da-Da-Da-Da-Da—Daaaaahhhhh…. can’t even save that scene.
The worst vehicle is the one Mike tried to escape in at the end of Final Justice.
