So, beginning today, if you see a single asterisk (*) after an entry in a MSTory post, that indicates that, according to the IMBD this person is alive. If you know otherwise, and can supply evidence that we can check that he or she has died, and when, please let us know.
If you see two asterisks (**) next to a birthday, the IMDB indicates that the person has died, but the IMDB does not have a full death date (probably just a month and year or just the year he or she died). If you can give us the exact date (with some sort of proof we can check), please let us know.
If you see two asterisks (**) next to a death date, the IMDB does not have this person’s full birthday. If you can provide it (with some sort of proof we can check), please let us know.
Thanks!
Prrretty sure Crow gets final say here…lol.

I don’t believe Joel actually approved of Crow’s aspiration in SCQtM to:
“I wanna decide who lives and who dies!”

Not meaning to sound rude, but I’m pretty sure the site has the wrong birth/death dates for Anthony Dexter. Anthony was my great grandmother’s first cousin, and I have access to family-records. I don’t remember precisely, but I’m pretty sure some of the facts are slightly wrong.
Speaking of relatives, have we ever discussed relatives in MSTied movies? As I indicated, Anthony Dexter is my great grandmother’s cousin. To other Satellite News users, do you have any relatives in MSTied films?
Great site, by the way.

By the way, you may remember Anthony in the episodes FIRE MAIDEN FROM OUTER SPACE, 12 TO THE MOON, and THE PHANTOM PLANET.

Puma–we are using the dates for Anthony that the IMDB has:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0186045/
If you can give us more accurate dates, we would love to get them. Please email me with the info when you have it.

Chris, here is a link to a page that gives the death date for Robert Marinus Lyden. That’s Bobby from the Rocky Jones Space Ranger series. IMDB and most other sources don’t list any death date for him. Some say that he died on 1/1/1986, but I believe the source below to be correct that he died 1/17/1986 in Glendale, CA. I haven’t been able to locate an obituary yet. Also, his birthday is also listed correctly as 5/28/1942 in Los Angeles.

Tech note: the new boilerplate appears to be escaping the html code (e.g, <b>bold text</b> instead of bold text)

Steve K–ouch! Embarrassing! Thanks for noticing.

I’ve always been curious as to how this day in MST3K is copyrighted? I can understand the code being copyrighted, but since the facts are lifted from imdb anyways….? I am not sure what can/can’t be reproduced?

Nick–obviously, we can’t copyright somebody’s birthday. What’s copyrighted is the packaging of the information in the form you see it. A LOT of work (years and years of work) is represented in each day’s listing, and the assembly of the facts into a readable form is what it copyrighted.

This won’t help on birth/death dates but I thought it was interesting to note that James Anderson, who plays Boyd in “The Thing That Couldn’t Die,” is also Bob Ewell, the antagonist in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” He has a long career of character-actor roles but Mockingbird should be regarded as a claim to fame, no? Likewise for Barbara Bouchet of Agent for H.A.R.M., who I just saw in the old version of Casino Royale AND (alas poor) Robert (Lay off the BUZE, Ev!) Easton, who appears in the huge-budget film Gods & Generals. I don’t know if those things are worth mentioning or maybe already there, but there’s some trivia for ya!
