Drove up from San Francisco for the show and it was well worth it. Having not followed the other “How was the show” threads before I wasn’t really prepared for them to do stand-up as a warm up. Not only was it good for a laugh by itself, but it was also nice to see them the way most (all?) of them got their start.
The movie, The Alien Factor, was jaw droppingly bad. There was so much dead time in a couple places that they had riff themselves for not having enough jokes to fill it. Man. The audience was having a great time, though, and it really added some energy to the performances, I think.
The real treat, though, was the meat-and-greet afterward. It was the first time I’d met the crew, and I have to say it was a little surreal meeting people that I’d been watching on TV for the last 17 years or so. I never know what to say in situations like that. What a great group, though! They all seem like genuinely nice people. They all posed for pictures with me, and Mary Jo helpfully photobombed about half of them. :)

Drove up from Lippert Land (Alameda, Ca) and had a blast with my daughter and one of her friends. Laughed our asses off and got to meet the people I’ve been listening to for the last 20 years. Tried not to gush and/or seem like a stalker. Photos with Joel and TV’s Frank. Best part of the experience was meeting them allowed me to get over my resentment of Pearl replacing Dr. F and my daughter now likes J. Elvis instead of hating all of the first season because Tom Servo’s voice was wrong…
But what a TERRIBLE movie. It was sublime…

This was my 3rd CT show and it was just as awesome as the first two times. Sadly it was raining pretty hard and quite cold out so I think this effected the turn out a bit. Still an enthusiastic audience for a partially filled theater. A guy a few rows in front of us had a REALLY legit looking Tom Servo that he brought with him, not sure if he built it or not but it looked like it could have been from the show (his head moved and everything!). I think Josh’s stand up was my favorite of the pre-show acts, he was killing it. Alien Factor was amazingly bad but they did a great job of keeping the audience laughing even during SEVERAL excruciatingly long forest walking scenes.

A fantastic show. These guys haven’t lost anything over the years. One of the best lines of the night wasn’t even scripted. When Trace was setting up for his poems he asked if anyone had any questions. Some woman yelled out “Where’s Crow?”, and then she moaned loudly. Trace said “My God, she’s just had a Crow-gasm!”
