Weekend Discussion Thread: Favorite Gypsy Moments

I can’t believe we didn’t do this one, but it’s not on the list, as alert reader Matthew notes:

After rewatching The Unearthly for the featured episode, I found myself laughing hard at the ‘Appreciating Gypsy’ host segment. It got me thinking about what other Gypsy moments were so funny and which Gypsy moments do other MSTies find funny. My contribution is her telephone song (“I wish I had a thing with a thing on it and one of my friends would chat with MEEEE!”).

My favorite moment can be summed up in three words: “Gypsy crushes Joel!”

What’s your pick?

I think I clicked like on more than half of the responses. There’s some great ones here.

Absolute fave is probably the Gypsy Moon. Its just so cute, even though I have no idea who Stacey Coon (Koon?) is. Think I’ll go Google it.

Wondered when you would do this as a discussion. I was re-watching “Hired the musical”, cracks me up when she goes “Zeroooo!”, and the pained look on Joel’s face.

That and the Catfish from Sinbad, its adorable how she’s playing with/trying to eat the Catfish.

Oh man, there’s so many. Just gotta say I love the way Gypsy evolved through the years. Maturing into her own womanness. Mary Jo’s influence perhaps?

@ 46 “Some of my other favorite Gypsy moments has to be from Untamed Youth, when she couldn’t stop spitting up cotton, paper towels and Tom Servos”
    \\\\\\\\\\\\\

Also probably Josh’s finest moment as Tom Servo.

I loved her reaction to the Mad’s “Tragic Moments” invention…

“EVIL! EVIL! You are so EVIL!”

She wasn’t on screen, but I love this moment:

I love Gypsy! In Angel’s revenge Crow has taken Earth vs. Soup and made it “Funky”, when Gypsy is given her part and realizes she has no lines she says, “not this sister!” In The Deadly Mantis when Mike and the Bots are (adrift)lost in space and looking for a good radio station but all they find is country music Gypsy says, “This stuff seems to be pretty popular.” And in The Dead Talk Back Gypsy says, “And then the moon came out and it was like Jerry willed it.” LOL.

Absolute favorite? Never actually aired: it’s a deleted scene from The Movie, in which she gives Mike “the kiss of life” by engulfing his head.

Runner-up: “Crash of the Moons,” and Gypsy’s smackdown of Crow and Tom in the “Gypsy Moons” number.

Third place (tie): “Something that rhymes with ‘bitch’–oops!!” from “Bloodlust!,” and Gypsy outdriving Pearl (complete with awesome catfight dialog) in “Deadly Mantis.”

Fourth: Gypsy finally comes into the theater, loses interest quickly, and leaves quietly (“Hercules and the Captive Women”).

From Giant Spider Invasion, when Gypsy has been taken over by the alien pods, and tries to get M&tB to sleep: “Close your eyes, go to sleep, be absorbed by the collective…”
