Several people have asked us about the upcoming Abbott and Costello: The Complete Universal Pictures Collection DVD set, which lists among its commentary contributors “Film Historian Frank Coniff” (sic). The spelling is wrong, but that is indeed Frank Conniff who recorded a commentary track for the Abbott and Costello movie Who Done It?
The DVD set will be released on October 28.
Nice, “Who Done It” is one of my all-time favorite Bud and Lou flicks. If I had a lot more disposable income, I’d really be looking forward to hearing Frank’s comments. :P
I’ll have to Netflix that disc.
What’s with releasing all these things on October 28th? And by “all these things”, I mean all two of them.
He-e-y AbBOT!
Wow, that was my favorite A&C film when I was 12; Frank has good taste!
Film historian, eh?
I wonder if Frank is positioning himself to take over the current TCM host spot from Robert Osborne? Frank is begining to bear an eerie resemblance to the white haired movie encyclopedia and at the very lest could function as a stunt double, should the need arise.
It would warm my heart to see TVs Frank host an evening of his favorite films on TCM.
You say that now, but after the third Mexican wrestler marathon you’ll be tearing your hair out by the handful.
Wow, another great idea… the Rif Channel. Almost 200 eps of MST3K, 4 film crews, 3 and counting CT’s ( and a bunch of Rifftrax shorts ).
Right there you’ve got 420 hours of programming. That’s almost 3 weeks !
Copyright be damned !!! America, Nay, the WORLD, demands the Rif Channel !!!!!
If there were a marathon of Mexican wrestler movies hosted by Frank, I’d be there. I might not make it through them all, but that’s what a DVR is for.
And I’m not a medium, I’m a petite . . .
Not only could there 200 eps of MST3K, 4 film crews, 3+ CTs, and the eps of the MST3K Hour, it could also run public domain movies for do-it-yourself riffing.
Plus CHEAP SEATS would have a place on the Rif channel.
