Also: Showbits.net has an overview of RiffTrax empire (including one element he just made up) that also mentions us! Thanks Ken!

Now THAT’S ripe for riffing. (Even though I liked this first one). Maybe I’ll actually try to figure out how to do this thing. Besides this computer, don’t have a lot of doo-dads, so I’ll have to figure out what I’ll need to get Rifftrax.

It’s easy. Is your computer in the same room as your TV? (It SHOULD be! How else do you riff on movies?) If so, I assume you have a DVD player connected to that TV. Just run the movie in the DVD player and the RiffTrax file on your computer.

Alternately, do you have an mp3 player or a portable CD player that plays mp3 disks? That’ll work too…

Apparently Rifftrax has permission now to use ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ prominently in their ads. If they had before, I never noticed it. This has to be a good sign. I guess Mallon isnt being a humbug about it.

I have to admit, upon first glance at the ad, I expected to see silhouettes and the guys donning the bots for this particular feature.

That is weird to see that. The announcer that introduces Mike on the Rifftrax MP3s has always said that they were from the people who brought us MST3K, but emphasized that it was not MST3K 2.0.

That ad up there makes it look like it’s directly related to MST3K (almost makes it look like they’re advertising a crossover :-P), and there’s nothing that mentions MST3K at all on the front page of the official Rifftrax website.

    Curiouser and curiouser…

I think it’s silly enough on it’s own, personally.

Even as a lover of the RiffTrax shorts, I have actually never tried any of the feature length movies. But I don’t think I can pass up this one!!!

This is definitely the best free sample they’ve posted in a while – I’m excited for this one!

I really didn’t like this movie. In fact I have yet to find a johnny depp movie that hasn’t angered me. I figured this movie to be overrated and not really what I expected to see when I think about pirates. With all that said I think this is going to a good one.

I watched this one last night and really enjoyed it. I had forgotten how long this movie was! Another A+ from the guys.
