I’m very excited about this. I’m from Winnipeg and have been waiting for a show to come moderately close to me. Looks like my wife and I will be taking a little road trip in September!!

Huzzah! Finally, at long last, two new DVDs will be released! They’ve let it go far too long, but I will certainly be looking forward to November!

Definitely good news. I’ve seen both of these shows and they were great.
One question (at the risk of sounding like a pest): will the revised “Doomsday Machine” end up on DVD some time?

I can’t believe they are actually coming to Wilmington Delaware! WOOOOOHOOOOOO! I am so there!

My anger at this group has increased yet again. I emailed them directly asking them why no AC shows and didn’t get a real answer. So now I have deleted EZ Takes and the movies from my external hard drive and will never purchase any CT merchandise again.
There is no point in being a fan if they just spit in your face.

@ Laura, yeah that will show them :-/

Damn Laura, over react much? AC is a 70 minute drive to Wilmington and Philly and they are playing both.

I do hope most fans are aware that the gang’s tour is limited to whenever they can get booked and that they’re not intentionally ignoring cities or parts of the country. It’s not up to a performer to say, “We want to play Chicago” and then BAM! they play Chicago. It never worked like that. A venue in that city needs to field an offer to their agent. Sometimes an agent can get the ball rolling by maybe sending a press or promo packet to a potential venue or by calling around, but it’s almost never up to the performers themselves.
Really the only thing that can be done on the fans’ end is to contact local venues you think would be a good place for CT to be booked. Explain what it is, describe the rabid fan base for MST3K, include the web site address…and of course try to make it clear that you’re writing as a fan, not as some paid shill. Target local mid-sized stage theaters, college campuses, art house movie theaters…you know, the places that would be “hip” enough to get the concept.
And if nobody in the area bites, well then, it’s not for a lack of trying…but it certainly isn’t the Titans’ fault.

Yea they are really terrible to their fans with things like the free meet and greets they do after every show.

Heck, I’m not even gonna kick at the nearly 8 hours it’s going to take me to drive to Elgin! It’s the closest I can get so I’m gonna take it.

New DVDs, and they’re being filmed within driving distance of me? I’m excited, but also trying to save money before my daughter is born in November. What to do? It would be cool to be at a show that’s being recorded for a DVD.

Holy Cow dude, you are certainly hard core!

@Chuck…
Not really. But a woman’s gotta do what a woman’s gotta do when she lives in the ‘Great American Comedy Wasteland’.

“Great American Comedy Wasteland.” You mean Hollywood? :-D

Cinematic Titanic… Cinematic Titanic… oh hey, I remember those guys. Didn’t they use to put out humourous riffs of bad movies back when George Bush was president? Wow, that was a while ago. Haven’t thought about them in a while now. So they’re still out there, huh?

@Laura..how can you even go to their shows when you have no job? Did you contact their booking agent?

So those of us who prefer proper studio releases can pretty much give up now, I think. I’m finally watching “East Meets Watts” as I write this and although there are plenty of funny jokes, I’m not loving the misspoken lines, audience drowning out material, mumbling and just general lack of precision that makes *going* to a show a worthwhile experience (you never know what’s going to happen) but makes *watching* a live show a chore. I’ve watched my live RT DVDs exactly once each and I have a feeling the same thing will hapen with these.
All I know is, if *this* was the product back in 1988, it never would have lasted 11 years.

@Sharktopus
No, considering several of the cast members live in and around Hollywood I’d say that’s more a ‘Comedy Oasis’.
Now, if you’d said the *studios* in Hollywood then I might have to agree with you. :snicker:

Jeez, so much mad.

Wow. There are some entitled people on here. I have a feeling they wouldn’t be satisfied if CT did a shpow in their living room.

Augusta isn’t so far away from Greenville SC in March. So….guys? Could you just swing by my folks place and do us a show in our living room?
Heh heh! Hell, I’m buying tickets (hopefully 3) as soon as the little thingie pops up and says I can. How soon before we know which stinky flickie they’ll be slinging funnies at? I’m excited!

oh god, they do a meet and greet? I’ll be so completely starstuck I’m likely to throw up on somebody. Who would be the best sport about that? Who should I aim at?

@28..How about if you practiced on yourself first??

@Stressfactor, I’m right there with you. The drive from Winnipeg is 8 hours and I think that’s the closest CT has ever come to me (I mean, aside from any previous Minneapolis shows I probably missed). I’m floating around on clouds right now.

@29 I don’t need practice to throw up. I need practice aiming at somebody I love and admire from afar. I guess you’re out. harharhar!

@31..You sound SO romantic..I’m out? Ah,too bad.

@32 Barking up the wrong tree there. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! To each, his or her own. I just like hers. heh heh! …I was joking about hurling on Joel and the rest. I’m just a rabid fan of them (i.e., “love and admire” in a friendly sort of way). You’d think with my radio background I would have met more famous folks, but I haven’t. Very easily starstruck.
Do we actually get to physically touch them? And repeating for those who might assume as Mr. Bowden has done, in a friendly sort of way is what I mean… . Hand to hand preferably. Would like shoulder to shoulder so someone could do a snap of me with all of them…me near them and all…??

Me so happy!
Been way too long since some new CT product. Saw Rattlers last year and it was a riot!
And saying the studio DVDs are better than the live is like saying The Grateful Dead’s studio albums were better than their concerts….

@33..I guess it’s hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic on here, isn’t it? I didn’t really think you would actually throw up on CT for one thing.I guess you’re so excited about meeting them, that you can’t control yourself or your bodily functions.. But,don’t get any ideas,ok??

Why no San Diego Comic-Con appearance? Please don’t make me go to Dragon-Con again in order to see you… :pain:

@35 It was all kind of joking. In fact, I gotta wonder if the meet/greet is within vomiting distance anyway? hee!
I’d definitely control myself. Bodily fluids from me slung on one of those great folks would turn the whole thing from dream come true to nightmare come alive.

I hope they add a date in Michigan to their tour.

When I go to order at Greenville SC they want to put us on the end of section D, seats 1, 2, 3. I guess we’ll see Trace, Joel and Mary really good over there. Would sure love to be in the middle. I guess I have to make a donation to get there.
