Weekend Discussion Thread: What Has MST3K Taught You?

Alert reader Stacy writes:

I was thinking that a possible discussion thread might be this…

“If MST3K has taught me anything, it’s… (fill in the blank).

For me, MST3K has taught me to be careful when saying the word “peanuts”. :-)

For me, it’s that meteors roam around space in swarms.

What about you?

I learned I should never marry a passive, immobile doctor named Ted Nelson. And certainly shouldn’t have his baby. That’s very sound, I think.

@151 And if you do marry Dr. Ted Nelson make sure you stock up on crackers.

I learned that assaulting a worker and a possible backer for an archeological dig do not get you fired from that dig.

I learned that trademark-infringing heroines hold pointless seances that contact the spirits of offensive stereotypes.

I learned that old men hate smoochers on their property.

I learned that bread delivery men are a target of good and evil.

I learned that flat-chested, extra-petite girls really go for incomprehensible guys who drive around in vans with Lee Van Cleef and a pet gerbil. And that small Midwestern towns are often ruled, iron-fisted Latin American junta-style, by oppressive small-time industrialists and their henchmen. But with a few well-placed karate chops and a couple of throwing stars, everything’s just fine again.

I learned that the world being taken over by hyper intelligent ants might not be so bad if you get to hang out with Lynn Frederick.

I also learned that you shouldn’t hire psychos. And if you do, don’t fire them or frustrate their career plans.

Also: Never sabotage an airplane that you will be traveling aboard.

And I learned that you can’t always trust the Devil. Who knew that the lord of lies and evil and deception might let you down?

I learned that I am the laziest man on Mars.

And he didn’t steal no bike, neither!
