Or how about a Q&A with the new Crow and Tom Servo?

Great trailer, I love the old BB homespun style SPFX and interesting that Jonah is apparently a space trucker of sorts when he gets kidnapped? Anyways, I dig it!

Hooray! The clips above basically confirm the IMDB list posted earlier was the real deal or a very well informed fake!
At the Earth’s Core (1976)
Avalanche (presumably the 1978 version)
Carnival Magic (1981)
Cry Wilderness (1987)
Hercules (presumably the 1983 Lou Ferrigno version, also directed by Luigi Cozzi, aka “Lewis Coates” of Starcrash fame)
Reptilicus (1961) ***CONFIRMED***
Starcrash (1978) ***CONFIRMED***
The Beast of the Hollow Mountain (1956)
The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t (1966)
The Land That Time Forgot (1974)
Time Travelers (1964) ***CONFIRMED***
Wizards 1 (Probably Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 1985)
Wizards 2 (Probably Wizards of the Lost Kingdom II 1989)
Yongary (1967)

Sweet! Very fun teaser. And I’ve always wanted to see Starcrash riffed in particular though only one fifties movie is a little bit of a disappointment. But only a little bit.

And for my fellow geeks: Time Travelers has a Forry Ackerman cameo (just like Future War).

Staring off into space hasn’t been as exciting as I thought it would be.

This looks promising!
Now, someone’s going to re-cut the trailer into the style of either the TFA or “Casino Royale” trailers, I figure.

Most of them seem to be from the same general video licensing company from the same general time period, and all films that would, or have, surfaced on the PD backwaters of Netflix/Amazon Prime streaming in the recent past with few licensing issues. All the titles, including “Forgot” and “Hercules” seem to follow that pattern, so safe to go with this list, and WotLK1+2 would certainly fall in the category.
Joel said they might be spending a little money on one or two non-PD titles, which would apply to “Christmas That Almost Wasn’t”, but they had to do that one for a holiday episode sooner or later.
Seems a little repetitious to do both Ferrigno’s Hercules AND Starcrash, but they’re both riffable for similar good reasons.
(And Merlin’s Shop of Magical Wonders.)

If one can measure these things, Yongary has once of the strangest dancing sequences I’ve ever seen in a South Korean monster movie.

If they are going to riff on “Yongary”, better strap in, folks. It has the worst Monster Child in the history of movies. He’s even worse than the gang from “Neptune Men”.

Hampton Yount’s Crow voice is so on point. Would have liked to hear a riff or two in the theater though! Still, very excited about this. It’s crazy how just getting one more season of the show was such an unexpected joy that I hadn’t even considered we might get multiple seasons.

Signed up to Netflix last night.
Played the “classic” episodes all night long (on 2 devices)
Saw this at the kickstarter comments section, which confirmed my suspicion that it wasn’t Pearl/Mary Jo in the trailer:
the woman next to Kinga who looks a HELL of a lot like Pearl? That’s Rebecca Hanson, our new Gypsy!

This would have been nice to have been flagged as a spoiler for those of us who live for suspense.

It’s part of Kinga Forrester’s evil plan to reject our reality, and substitute her own. ;)
OTOH, when dealing with a, er, overenthusiastic fan community–especially one that tends to ascribe superpowers to the show and its creators beyond the lot of mortal men–it’s important to get as many solid FACTS about the show nailed down ahead of time, and let that dominate the future tone of the discussions by the time it airs.
Otherwise, they might run into the same problems RT had in establishing itself as a god-like cult, in that fans might be looking at S11 and saying “Joel said they might be getting any movie…Cool, d’you think they’ll get Batman v. Superman?” Nnno…Just–okay, no.
Even if it might be disappointing to know what imaginary movies they might not be getting, or that they might’ve only gone to a limited number of wells for inexpensive PD titles like the old series or Cinematic Titanic did, at least knowing we’ll get two of the Land That Time Forgot/At the Earth’s Core trilogy (“People That Time Forgot” is playing unriffed on Amazon Prime) is a perfect context to set the series in before watching, and enjoying it for what it IS, rather than for what some more devoted fans WANT it to be.

Oh, how disappointing. And you were doing so well, too! I suppose with the number of comments you made in this thread I should have known a completely nonsensical Mike/Rifftrax slam apropos of nothing was inevitable.

In the meantime – would that be a maybe WDT BTW?-
youtube has a dozen or so full episodes of “Commander USA’s Groovie Movies”. From the ’80s I guess but I only discovered it a few days ago. Especially like the Commander’s unfailing good nature & enthusiasm: “In this one, Peter Graves is an entomologist on loan to the Department of Agriculture – oh boy, this sounds scary already!”* The host segments are full of absurdities but they’re just left for you to notice, not signposted, which is nice.
*Yes, that’s one of the featured movies.

@Ro-man @117 Thanks for the info on the premier dates; for some reason I didn’t get the latest update in my inbox.

I have two questions that I hope someone can answer:
1) Will the DVDs/BluRays of Season 11 have bonus features about the making of the show or the films they riff?
2) Will any of the Season 11 episodes include shorts?

BTW, the streaming date for backers is April 9, not 8, as clarified in the comments by Ivan.

Here’s a question: who is Kinga Forrester’s mother? I mean, the whole reason Clayton got into the mad scientist gig was to hide what an ineffectual loser he was, but Kinga is living proof that he got lucky at least once. So who would go to bed with Dr. Clayton Forrester? (Hmmm, it would have to be before he became a Star Baby…)
Might make a good discussion thread.

Well, since Patton Oswald plays “TV’s Son Of TV’s Frank” we can assume they both got lucky at least once.
Who says they got lucky? Maybe they’re test tube babies. But that would mean Dr. F and Frank would have been competent enough to actually maintain artificially created life, so… back to the drawing board.
Hmm… drawing board…

Ivan has mentioned a documentary for the new season, which will be on the sets. So there’s at least that.
Joel has said none of the season 11 movies include shorts. My thought is that Shout should get the gang back together to riff some shorts as an exclusive for their own Youtube channel (and eventually for DVD), since shorts would be easy for people to share on Youtube and create buzz in between seasons.

…I AM NOT!! I demand a DNA test!

I’ve been saying this entire time that Kinga is the daughter of Clayton and Resusci-Annie, and I will continue to hold to this headcanon until it is directly contradicted. :)

I believe joel stated that he envisioned Son of TV’s Frank to possibly be a clone.
Kinga could be adopted?

Thanks. . I wouldn’t mind waiting since I’m on Season 5 right now. It’s $100 currently for the pre-order. I hope they will warn me if it goes higher than that.

Or let’s hope there’s a season 12 and they riff some shorts…that’s another possibility..

IMHO, this list needs to be posted EVERYWHERE, if only to save us from the endless “I hope they do (insert title of movie) for season 11!” posts.

C’mon NoNDA, let’s BOTH go deliver pizzas…They just can’t accept good sense around here. :)

I can imagine a failed marriage or three in Clay’s past. One boozy night at a mad science convention in Vegas, and he’s stuck paying alimony and child support for life.

Joel’s talked about sticking with movies that are widescreen since the show’s in HD now, so anything before the mid-50s is out. That’d probably eliminate the vast majority of shorts as well, although they too were projected in widescreen in certain cases. (Once Upon a Honeymoon, for example.)
Oh, and as far as movies go, never hurts to see what studios Shout has dealt with and figure out what they could possibly grab. For example, I count six titles from the list above that have been released on video by MGM, who has worked with Shout for years. Might be missing a few, though…

I’m guessing that both offspring will be at least a little smarter than than their dads.

For the record, Trace Beaulieu’s headcanon is that Kinga’s mother is…Frank.

If they ever do a old educational short or a pre-widescreen movie, they could always add some curtains or borders to the side of the screen in the theater. Disney has something like that as an option on the Blu Rays of their older animated films.

Hope they’re not too harsh on those Doug MaClure movies as I love them, especially Earths Core. This movie recently turned up on a local channel here and is ripe for riffing: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051205/?ref_=nv_sr_3

I too hope that At the Earth’s Core really is one of the titles they use. I’ve heard so much about it, but it’s been listed as Not Available on the Netflix disc service for as long as I can remember.
Since he’s done some guest riffing for Rifftrax, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility.

Netflix still has a disk service?? Reed Hastings didn’t horsewhip it and sell it down the river with an angry resentful kick to its backside after the whole Qwikster disaster?
I remember seeing At the Earth’s Core at our all-night sci-fi festival (also, probably, because the rights were easy to get), and it’s eminently riffable…A Land That Time Forgot followup is one thing, but evil hypnotic pterodactyls??
You don’t even feel sorry for good old Peter Cushing, since he’s always such a good sport in any B-movie he appears in.

I want June Diane Raphael in everything! And I especially want any and all MST alumni, past and present, to go on How Did This Get Made post haste. The kings of riffing/deconstructing bad movies must get together.

well more than that, he was mentioned prominently in the run-up to S11, offering to bring his “expert-tweeze” for new on-set/in-cam special effects… so, unless that fell through and he just didn’t have the time to… guess we’ll find out later once the season’s released and everyone feels they can start talking without being in that “can’t talk about details yet” period! (besides though, who do ya know who’d have their own firesuit to bring to the set on a moment’s notice? ;0)
still i’m just guessin’ outta nowhere on that one. we’ll see… for all we know, that was actually mark hamill’s cameo! (actually, i bet that’s how it went down… adam brings the firesuit, lets mark hamill wear it, so then adam has the coolest firesuit in the world, once worn by skywalker himself!)

If only they would riff Street Fighter (1994) so June as Magic Voice could ask ‘What, exactly is a street fighter?’
