I’d probably just go with my four most wanted.

    Danger Diablik
    Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster
    Hercules and the Captive Women
    The Amazing Collosal Man.

And if we get a bonus disc, I’ll got with Shorts 3, because it’s the only MST3k disc do date that I don’t have.

    @Th1rt3eN (#92)

Surely you’d have to include Diabolik as a bonus disc, to complete the theme…

  5. Dr. Tar says:

903 Pumaman – or Pewmaman as Donald Pleasence seems think it’s pronounced.
201 Rocket Ship X-M – never saw it, want to see it.
819 Invasion of the Neptune Men – nothing like a lame rip off of Prince of Space
213 Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster – what MST3K was made for, making fun of giant monster movies.

Of course, I want to have all of the episodes released in the not to distant future. If I am allowed to create the next set for Shout! Factory based on my favorite…

311 – It Conquered The World
    806 – The Undead
    906 – The Space Children
    1013 – Diabolik

Bonus Disc: 309 – The Amazing Colossal Man, or 507 – I Accuse My Parents (I’m still holding out hope for an Eegah! 2-Disc Special Edition similar to what Shout! did for Manos: The Hands Of Fate.)

DVD Features: MST Hour Wraps; Roger Corman Feature; “The Last Dance: Raw” Footage; Life After MST3K: Someone Who Isn’t Participating in RiffTrax or Cinematic Titanic, i.e. Paul Chaplin, David Sussman, Beez McKeever

    I’d go with:

    201 – Rocketship X-M
    510 – The Painted Hills
817 – Horror of Party Beach
    903 – Puma Man

I’d also like to see for future bonus discs both showing of MST3K Home Game: The Day the World Ended, the Scrapbook, the TV specials, and any other goodies that haven’t been released. But ONLY if they are bonus discs and don’t take the place of an episode. That really irritated me when Rhino put out those sets with 3 episodes and a shorts collection. I don’t mind that they put out the shorts collections on DVD, fine and dandy, but not as a replacement for an episode.

    I can’t help myself. One more…

    203 – Jungle Goddess
    307 – Daddy-O

    815 – Agent For H.A.R.M.

Bonus Disc: Re-Release of Rhino’s Shorts, Vol. 3

602 – Invasion USA (with short: A Date With Your Family)

    My prediction for Volume XXIX:

510 – The Painted Hills (with short: Body Care And Grooming)
704 – The Incredible Melting Man
    805 – The Thing That Wouldn’t Die

Arrrggghh! Now the people at Shout Factory have perfect information on what to hold back until the very last DVD sets, because we will keep waiting and aiting (and buying) until our favorites are finally released…..

So, let us pray that the people at Shout Factory are nice. (They have been, so far, admittedly.)

311 – “It Conquered the World”
    601 – “Girls Town”
    805 – “The Thing that Couldn’t Die”

That being said, if I were to keep it within the bounds of reality (as we know it right now), I’d choose…
    201 – Rocketship XM
418 – “Attack of the Eye Creatures”
    519 – “Outlaw”
    805 – “The Thing that Couldn’t Die”

I discovered MST3K on YouTube & watch many episodes that ain’t on DVD yet or, unfortunately, anymore. (but optimistic Shout Factory will re-release some) I often see these on YouTube, & in keeping w/ the Joel/Mike balance, I’d say…

    Earth vs. the Spider
    Hercules & the Captive Women
    San Francisco International
    Riding with Death

EVSTS may be my least favorite, but I assume that’s preceded by the classic short “Using Your Voice.” In fact any movie w/ shorts (except the serials; bleah!) will do. & I also hope Shout re-releases “The Skydivers,” “The Starfighters,” & “Catalina Caper” (Vol. 1…on tape!) Those I watch on YouTube & r my favourites!

    Fire Maidens From Outer Space
    Outlaw
    Girls Town

-Riding With Death (man, those glasses are filthy!)
-Agent For H.A.R.M. (Duh duh DUH-DUH!!!!!….. no, it’s not happening)
-Diabolik (come on, the second series finale needs to be released sometime)

Plus the MST3K Vice Presidential Command Performance Academy of Robot’s Choice Awards Preview Special as a bonus feature. Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?

A Remaining Storyline Episodes set (not counting perpetual-storyline s. 8*):

201 – Rocketship X-M (new Servo voice, Frank)
418 – Attack of the The Eye Creatures (essential episode extra, balances set Joel/Mike)
901 – The Projected Man (first Castle Forrester)
    1013 – Diabolik (series finale)

    * or else make first Observer one #2 in set

  23. 401 – Space Travelers (never seen it, but I’m quite intrigued by MST’s only Oscar-winning movie)
704 – The Incredible Melting Man (possibly the funniest episode I’ve ever seen)
805 – The Thing that Couldn’t Die (for personal nostalgia reasons)
912 – The Screaming Skull (one of my all-time favorites)

Great to see Season 1 is almost completely out on DVD (well, except for us sad folks who will NEVER be able to get our hands on “Women of the Prehistoric Planet” — or, at least, not without a Shout re-release).

  24. oh my word. I can’t believe some of these have not made it onto DVD yet.
The fact we don’t have Daddy-O out on disc is just a crime.

But here are the volumes in some sort of common theme deal. The order of release is no biggy. Just my thoughts. But The Amazing Colossal Man must be released again. It has too much sentimentality for me not to be available.

319 – War of the Colossal Beast
623 – The Amazing Transparent Man

I don’t have any preference. What I find depressing is that with 54 unreleased episodes, that means 13 sets to go (assuming two five disc sets) at the rate of three sets a year means more than four years to go for all to be released. I know that from a marketing standpoint it wouldn’t’ work, but I’d like to see all the sets released in one year.

    201 – Rocketship X-M (“Oh, what the heck… we’ll dine in!”)
311 – It Conquered the World (“He learned too late that man was a feeling creature, and because of that…”)
317 – Viking Women vs. The Sea Serpent (“Waffles!”)
416 – Fire Maidens of Outer Space (“His Name Is Timmy.”)

Oh and don’t forget the MST Hour host segments, where applicable. Plus some bonus feature centering on Timmy.

  31. Luther Heggs aka Number 6 says:

If I won the fan contest, I would pick four episodes completely at random from my Bene Gesserit ping-pong ball pain barrel lotto episode selector, allowing the volume to be determined by fate, chance, & Gom jabbar threats.

    The universe is never wrong.

My bonus disk would be The Green Slime pilot and an interview with Green Slime star Robert Horton (who is now 89, so we would act on this quickly.)

The bonus disk would also be a 2-sider. The non MST3K side being the full length film of The Green Slime and bonus commentary by Horton over the whole film, said commentary preferably supplied while Horton is drinking generous shots of Knob Creek whiskey.

If you order direct from Shout!, they throw in a foam rubber Green Slime monster stress doll. And it squeaks when squeezed. The squeaker is positioned directly behind the cyclopean eye. It’s always a pleasure when first discovered by the customer.

(Take that H P Lovecraft. With strange eons, even death may be squeaked.)

It would be the best selling Shout! set EVER.

I guarantee it. No matter which four episodes were drawn… because The Green Slime would be the deal maker.

An obsession with the monster stress doll would cause an unusually high amount of orders direct from Shout!

Also, Horton would sell the dolls only on his website at 19.99 a pop/squeak, just to create more buzz and madness.

I am a marketing god. Or maybe that’s the Knob Creek talking.

Using the 2 shows per host formula:

    307–Daddy-O
418–Attack of the The Eye Creatures
    704–The Incredible Melting Man
    705–Escape 2000
Bonus Disc – 603-The Dead Talk Back (to finally replace the bad Rhino disc)

Regarding Episode 704, Shout just released the film on DVD/Blu-Ray last month so I’m hoping this will lead to them finally releasing the episode with the film.

Don’t know if it has been said yet, but…
    -The Amazing Colossal Man
    -War of the Colossal Beast
    -The Amazing Transparent Man
    -The Incredible Melting Man
You’ll keep The Amazing Colossal Man and War of the Colossal Beast together, while it can also be an “Amazing/Incredible [blank]” set.

Also noticed that there seems to be a number of biker films, so maybe a set just for the biker films. Who knows?

  45. Getting in kind of late on this, but I’ll put forth the four I most want to see (excluding my beloved KTMAs, of course)…

203 – Jungle Goddess (to go along with RSS as a Ralph Byrd twofer)
307 – Daddy-O (because Dick Contino’s polka albums rock…er…polka, I guess. I’d love to see them talk to him and maybe have him play a bit.)
520 – Radar Secret Service (See JG)
912 – The Screaming Skull (Hey, I like this one, so sue me.)

There are others I’d like to see, of course. Amazing Colossal Man is one of my favorites, but it’s unlikely and I have it on VHS. Also, we’d need “Colossal Beast” to go alongside it and I don’t like that one much.

Normally, I’d vote for Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster because I love the big guy, but we all know it ain’t gonna happen.

As summer winds down I can’t help but think of my youth and MST3K movies that fit the theme to boot!

This was a tough call but I think I want to go with a teen theme using the following entries.

418 – Attack of the The Eye Creatures
    601 – Girls Town
    809 – I Was a Teenage Werewolf
817 – Horror of Party Beach

I’m especially partial to the last two choices (809 &817) I remember watching “Teenage Werewolf” when I was 9 years old and I found out a few years ago that “Party Beach” was filmed in Stamford, Connecticut at a beach I actually had gone to not to far from my hometown.

But lets be honest, if I had my way I would love to have a mega-set with at least 2 or 3 more and those would be
912 – The Screaming Skull ( actually remember the movie trailer from my childhood)

    903 – Puma Man
    519 – Outlaw

What can I say,… Shout Factory is spoiling me in a good way

What I expect on the next set (my guess on the Shout! forums):

    112-Untamed Youth
    510-The Painted Hills
    704-The Incredible Melting Man
    814-Riding with Death

If virtually anything were available, I’d go with a 5-episode set:

    213-Godzilla vs the Sea Monster
    309-The Amazing Colossal Man
    319-War of the Colossal Beast
    809-I Was a Teenage Werewolf
    903-The Pumaman

Wow….if this list is complete (and I’m able to count!), we’re down to 54 remaining shows.

At 4 eps per set, that means 13.5 more sets to go (Volume 41.5, anyone ??? ;-) )!

Now…..if only Shout! Factory can get the proper clearances for all these future releases, we can have the whole series sewn up sometime in the next 5-7 years !!!

    :-D

    307 – Daddy-O
    815 – Agent for H.A.R.M
819 – Invasion of the Neptune Men
    912 – The Screaming Skull

My choices are Mike-heavy, but there aren’t as many Joel episodes left, and our cable provider didn’t even carry Comedy Central until just before season 7 started.
