I got District 9, which I hope will be riffed by Mike and the guys soon. (Not because it’s a bad movie–it’s easily the best sci-fi film I’ve seen in ages–but because I’d love to see what Rifftrax would make of it.)

The hubby got me a “You know you want me, baby!” T-shirt and a pack of mst3k post-its. Add those to the RiffTrax live show the other week, and it was a Merry Christmas indeed :)

I recieved some DVDs of Classic 80’s cartoons, some of which will be getting my own MST treatment. Silverhawks, Voltron and G.I. Joe. There is one more that was ordered late so I haven’t recieved it yet, East Meets Watts from CT, I can’t wait for that one.

Watch-out-for-Snakes #41: All I got was some nice dress slacks from JC Penny.

Sounds like you were a victim of the Wish Squisher. Did Dr. F and Frank ruin anyone else’s Christmas?

Nothing related to MST, but I did receive the ultimate collector’s edition of How the West Was Won. The print was beautiful; and except for a few scenes against a blue sky, you no longer see the Cinerama “join” lines. Would love to see the gang riff this one.

  14. Nothing MST3K for me, but my 12-year-old nephew has become hooked on all things MSTie-related and got what he wanted most: Rifftrax Shorts Vol 1 & 2. Now we can finally watch something *else* when he comes over.

And while I don’t think it’s *technically* a wish-squisher, I did get *two* copies of “The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin”. This after getting two copies of The Beatles’ Capitol Albums Vol. 1 for my birthday in October. Oh well, back to the amazon.com returns center for me…

I’m hoping to get the Cinematic Titanic Live DVD for my birthday next month.

Sampo, thanks for pointing out the MST3K hoodie. Our anniversary is in about 2 weeks and that’s what I asked to get for a gift.

We got our new CT East Meets Watts DVD just before Xmas and had a good time watching that once already. Wow, what a truly terrible film, but a great comedy performance at the movie’s expense.

  18. Eric says:

While visiting my parents in my hometown, I had two MST3K-related experiences. One, the family gathered ’round the DVD player to watch the “Giant Spider Invasion” episode. My dad insists we skip the host segments — he doesn’t “get” them — but at least we’re watching MST3K as a family.

The other thing is that I saw a sign for a local politician running for city council, and his name is Steve Manos. Manos for City Councilman! Leave your city’s fate in the hands of Manos!

Heh. My brother ended up getting three copies of the John Adams biography (it was something he requested and apparently there was what Paul Newman would call a failure to communicate).

I kept talking about how I wished I could store all my MST-related stuff in digital format, so my wife got me an external hard drive so that I could do just that. Pretty romantic, huh?

  23. Travis says:

Also, nothing technically MST related, but I did get a TV stand that has a shelf that pulls out in front. Now I can play the Crow and Tom Servo figures right in front of the TV and riff along…
Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?

  25. piratejoe says:

My dear wife got me XVI! I had to wait for her to get that for me. And my brother massively came through getting me a rifftrax DVD, which, considering he’s not really a fan, is kinda impressive. I bought myself East Meets Watts early.
Not MST specific, but in the same genre, my brother also got me a book about Wacky Packages, the 70’s bubblegum package version of MST3K. If you have never seen them, check it out.

  26. Steve Vil says:

I got the latest MST set with the Servo figurine. I also got the first season of “Better Off Ted”, season 8 of “Scrubs”, the movies “Hot Fuzz” and “Coraline”, a Rubik TouchCube and a Snuggie.

It would have been funnier if I said, “I got a rock”.

I got an unexpected Christmas gift. I’m visiting my folks in Phoenix (father and stepmom) and brought along some DVD’s for me to watch alone at night or when I’m by myself (they’re working all the time). Christmas eve their 15 year-old grandkid shows up and hangs around all day waiting to be picked-up by her parents. She gives up on watching TV and asks me to choose. So I grab my “Santa Claus Conquers The Martians” MST3K DVD and play it. Throughout the 90 min. my father and stepmom come in and out of the movie (I explained everybody the premise before starting the DVD) but this kid stays with the experiment throughout and ‘gets it.’ Doesn’t laugh at every joke or get every reference but gets enough to laugh out loud a couple of times and say afterwards she’s never seen anything like this before.

The combination of seeing a beloved MST3K classic with civilians that never in a million years would know or care to watch “MST3K” (I’m the only one in my family to ever ‘get’ the show) made this particular viewing of “Santa Claus Conquers The Martians” particularly funny and enjoyable. And on Christmas Eve to boot.

Nothing MST3K. Got Blu Rays Star Trek the Movie, King Kong, also Underoos that won’t fit for a year…erm, strike that…A nice Christmas mug I’ll have to wait a year to use, a nice web cam so I can moon people from all over the world (can’t wait to get that hooked up), Sesame Street: 40 years of Sunny Days( from mom, she still thinks I’m 4 years old but I don’t mind), a really nice toaster oven from big sis, and other stuff I can’t remember and probably have pieces of wrapping paper stuck on them. Hahaha! Just joking. That’s what they do to the crap I give THEM!

Oh, several mentioned ROCK BAND The Beatles? My niece got that from their Nana and Papa. The guitar, drums and Mic. Nothing more amazing than watching a 9 year old sing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds while her twin sister bangs the drums (with 85%+ accuracy) and their mother jams on the Guitar (at 100% acc).
