30+ People here in Vegas. Went from 6 different theaters the first broadcast down to just one, though, so it was a bit of a drive for me.

    AWESOME SHOW

There were only about 15 people in the theater in Owings Mills MD. But what a blast! Great show.

Did anyone happen to write down the Rifftrax address we are supposed to go to for our “Free Stuff”?

  4. Yeah, not a huge crowd in (West) Des Moines, IA, but a very receptive one. I missed it in August and I’m so glad I went last night. That was 31 flavors of awesome!
Question for those who own the DVD, are the riffs pretty much the same, or did they change it up for the live show?

most jokes were the same about 95% old material. I got the “Flying Stewardess” short, I was saddened that they omitted the joke about smashing a passengers elbow with the snack tray.

About 50+ people in Sterling Heights, MI. The theater was full last time. Even so, the crowd seemed to get into it after a while.

I still think that Jonathan Coultan did a fine job and the Rich Kyanka bits were funny. I’d love to see the whole live evening on DVD.

Only about 12 people in the audience at the Park Place theater in Tucson, AZ last night. Bunch of stringy haired nerds.

I know I’m not the first to say this, but Plan 9 is almost joke-proof. Sad to say, I found myself wishing that the riffers would go away and leave the film alone. It’s amazing! It’s almost like Eraserhead – if Wood had been capable of a darker tone, it WOULD be Eraserhead.

During the lame song bits (barring the pretty funny Rifftones song), I liked how the camera zooms in on what appear to be Jonathan Colton (sp?) fans singing along in the audience. Jonathan Colton – nerd love god, apparently.

I went to the the AMC theater in the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ. I would say there were about 20-25 people there to see the show. The audience was very enthusiastic and laughed a lot for the short and the movie. I watched the original DVD of the Mike-solo riffed “Plan 9” before I went to the show and was happy to hear that all the riffs weren’t the same. I had a nice time and thought it was worth the $10 I spent. Now, if only Cinematic Titanic would come to NY state….

Colorization is nothing compared to the thought police (political correctness movement) editing parts of old tv shows & movies.

There was an old Gomer Pyle episode where Gomer lost a live mortar shell and He and Sgt. Carter went looking for it at night, and the funniest part in my opinion was when Gomer said “Sgt. Carter, Sgt. Carter!” and Carter said “What, did you find it Pyle?!” and Gomer said “No, but I stepped on a lizard!”

I saw the same episode years later and it was gone! Some a$$hole edited it right out of the show!

Who knows how many other shows are getting ruined by these humorless B@stards?

schippers: Why complain about the riffing? The option to watch Plan 9 without commentary has been available for decades.

About 30 people in Monroe, LA. There were 130 at the first show. I didn’t matter. I laughed at the second one as much as the first. It was monstrously funny! (no pun intended).

Speedy (post 55) I remember laughing at a joke Thursday night about smashing the drink cart into the passenger’s shoulder. thx for reminding me. Some of the riffs went over super-well but I can rarely remember the jokes.
There were about 30 people in our theatre. I thought it was odd, but everyone bunched up together. Everyone sat in the middle section of the theatre and all in about 10 rows. It was like we were a special, fraternity of people, banding together for that what fuels us.

I saw the original broadcast in the Stonecrest 12 theaters just outside Charlotte, NC .The theater was 3/4 full at that showing. Great show ! This time , I was visiting my son for his birthday on Long Island, NY ( he turned 27 ) and took him to see the encore at the UA Westbury Stadium 12 in Westbury, NY. I expected only a few people, but it was nice to share the event again with about 60 folks ! Nice crowd for an encore. I loved it again, and my son did also ! It is rare today to go to the movies and literally laugh through the entire movie ! Everyone enjoyed the evening very much.

About 15 people in Lakewood, CO, but a great time had by all. Went with my Mom, who isn’t a big MST3K fan, but she really enjoyed this (and recognized a bunch of the actors from old westerns!). And it turned out the theater manager was a fan too, which was very cool! Got to talk to him for a bit about the show. Laughed through the whole thing (well, maybe not during the first Colton song–though I did laugh with/at Kevin during the second). Loved it, and can’t wait for the next one!

The attendance at the encore performance in Scottsdale, AZ was double what it was at the last showing in Glendale, AZ, which is to say about 30 people. But just as funny as ever! My buddy I brought along, who I just showed MST3K: The Movie to the other day, got a kick out of it.

It was interesting seeing the encore having bought Jonathan Coulton’s greatest hits album immediately after the original broadcast. I had less anger towards his inclusion, but was still terribly embarrassed for the human race by the excitement of the girls in the audience.

Of course, I would do the same thing at a KISS concert, so maybe I should notice the 3 fingers pointing back at me.
