Alert reader Sitting Duck asks:
During the course of a film, the riffers will sometimes refer to one or more characters by (usually derisive) nicknames. Which of these are your favorites? Mine come from Time Chasers, where crooked CEO J.K. Robertson is referred to as “Bob Evil.”
My pick: “The Load” in “Mole People.”
What’s yours?
Sgt. Justine from RED ZONE CUBA.
Andrew Wyeth’s Pink Boy on Tarmac…
“I’m an icky elf!”
For the record (and O/T), I can’t see the new movie The Martian, because I keep picturing Matt Damon marching up and down the red rocks of Mars, repeating his character’s name in the voice of that guy from Outlaw: “Wwwatney! KING Watney! Emperor Watney!” It drives me insane.
That said, I’m seconding, thirding and fourthing Big Stupid.
Bob Evil of EvilCo. in Time Chasers is another that probably came up already.
Mbax (the written equivalent of how Crow says Max in Ninja Master 1 and 2)
Wienie Man Awaaaaay!
Lastly, Joe Don never got a real nickname, but I love it when Pearl calls him, “the dyspeptic Joe Don Baker.”
In honor of the late Martin Milner: “Wild Kingdom” (Lyle Kingman) SST Deathflight.
Happy Chef from I Accuse My Parents.
Johnny Mathis from “Mitchell”.
Barney Rubble
Golden Spider Duck, and Squat Crimson Pig
Track Of The Moon Beast … Bud Keeler / Butt Peeler(Wheeler?)
And don’t forget Kramerdower!
“Mittens! He’s a cop!”
“Greasy scarecrow boy not invited.”
How about a whole band?
Scott Scrawny and the Hard Gainers from “Horror of Party Beach”.
And from the same movie—Johnny Mathis and the Conan O’Briens.
off topic, but since there were doctor who jokes and they had some lego things,
but there will be logo doctor who:
http://brickset.com/article/16978/doctor-who-set-revealed-in-its-entirety!
also i think most of us who watch mst3k also like lego and doctor who.
Ringworm! Crankcase! Lubejob!
Making fun of the goofy names of the Martians in Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
But Toblerone is the one I think of when thinking MST3K. (With Big McLargehuge a close second, and Big Stupid third).
Also, don’t forget Dirk Squarejaw, the precursor to Big McLargehuge from one of those early season space ones.
And Johnny-the-wonder-something-or-other from Johnny at the Fair.
Johnny Longtorso!
Deney Terrio from CATALINA CAPER.
Sister Mary Vehicular Homicide from Future War, along with Jean Claude Gosh Darn.
And of course, Dr. Mellow Ski Bum from It Lives by Night.
I had to register just to add “Gomez” from Cave Dwellers. Y’know, for Dong, er, Thong, whatever.
Edie Budget Gorme from TISCWSLABMUZ.
Chief Mccloud
I’m late to the game, but I haven’t seen Lovejoy, Father Lovejoy, or Colonel Lovejoy (on A&E) mentioned yet.
Slightly off topic, but Mustache Dad from Twilight deserves a mention.
Into the Weenie Mobile! Weenie Man Awayyyyy!
Gare
It’s even better than that – Mike calls him “Butt Feeler”.
Gare
And also the short “Is This Love?” – “Young Colonel Sanders”
Gare
Spider Skank, Spider Skank!
Gare
Dewlap Man, from “The Human Duplicators” (the main characters drive off to somewhere; camera zooms in on a guy with an obvious Adam’s apple in another car who starts to drive off after them, during which Servo intones in his best “Batman narrator” voice: “What’s this? Dewlap Man following our heroes??”)
Hey, thanks … since it wasn’t a name they repeated throughout the experiment I’d always been unsure as to what Mike had said for the last name.
Carl Lewis! (Hobgoblins)
I always get a kick out of Big’s sidekick Danny being referred to as Sex Poodle.
I’m a fan of Orange Bikini from The Bermuda Triangle, which also features Maggie Simpson’s rival baby all grown up.
“Kooky the crazy clown cop” and “Trevor, the whisper thin cop” from Bride of the Monster.
I of course second the mention of Cornjob.
