Well, I got some clothes, a new ice scraper, some instant lottery tickets, a new blanket, and “William Shakespeare’s STAR WARS”. But I’m not complaining.

I did however get an early present on the 23rd: the asking price for a ticket to tonight’s CT dropped enough for me to afford it. So, I picked it up so I wouldn’t bother anyone with my whining about missing it.

Oh talking about Vol 10… I had given up since it was selling (at the time) for a whole lot in amazon’s marketplace. Visiting my folks in a larger city, we went to the mall and I walked into a FYE store. And there on the shelf… there it was… (cue glowing divine lights from the sky and choir music)… there on the shelf with the edge facing me… it was … no no… it couldn’t be… no way (lights dim, music fade) But but, it was! (LIGHTS AND CHOIR!!!) I turned it around and was stared in the face by a wonderful cheesy dinosaur, one I’d come very much familiar with since the horrible day I learned what happened. There was only one, and I would have knocked over an old lady with a walker to get it (would have paid for it then go back and help the old lady)… I still have it, all discs in tact to this very day!

Finally wore my family down and they got me my first set: Volume 26. Just bought Volume 23 off of Ebay, and redeemed enough bank rewards points to get an Amazon gift card which I plan to use on a set (not sure if it’s Volume 29 or not, since the pre-order price is $54) and the Criterion It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Plus my birthday is next month, so more gift cards could be in my future.

I also got my nephew a Crow/Servo/Gypsy shirt from the official shop. They were selling a host segment/Poopie! combo DVD for $3, so I tossed that in too. He was more excited about the wall clings BBI threw in with the order. He now gets to tell his friends about the show.

I also got the MST 25th anniversary box set. Lightly used, dent on the tin, but that’s the only problem. I love it! With that, I have finally received a DVD copy of the last episode that I had previously had only on VHS, “Mitchell!”

#54: congratulations and welcome. Welcome to that privileged community. The few. The Proud. The owners of Rhino Volume 10. It’s fun to be able to gloat, essentially saying “Nyahh, nyahh, jealous others, you shoulda ordered it right away like we did” (or purchased it in a second hand knick knack store). The excitement of being able to watch the “Mmmph vs Mmmph” DVD, knowing you have no fear of 10 years in prison or a $250,000 fine.

Don’t get me wrong, every so often I enjoy playing the Rhino 10.2 replacement disc so I can “sing whenever I sing whenever I sing.” But nothing beats being able to watch “Mmmph vs. Mmmph” at your convenience. Enjoy!

Our library got the original vol. 10 a while back, and I donated the “Giant Gila Monster” disc to the collection. Then it was pulled due to lack of circulation and put up for our annual book & other stuff sale. I grabbed them at once.

@58. That’s insane! I wish I had to talent to make those.

@59. I refuse to rub it in to anyone, but my pride stops just short of not saying anything. If that makes sense. :D It really is one of the few times things worked out for me. I was waiting to get squashed by a falling Spacelab on the way home.

@60. Cloaking Devices are so worth the cost for cases such as these.

At first I thought I had nothing to contribute to this thread, but I did get a complete DVD collection of the original Star Trek TV show. It’s been so long since I watched this, I’m catching all kinds of things that got turned into MST riffs, like the “Kid who drinks Tranya”. I remembered the episode, but not the Tranya bit. Happy New Year all.
