I know you’ve had a discussion about which movies would be good remakes, and I know that when there was a discussion about the MST movie being remade, Canucklehead actually mentioned Pixar remaking it as an animated movie.
But what if the Pixar/Dreamworks form of 3-D animation was used to remake, oh, Manos: The Hands of Fate, or Gamera vs. Guiron? Would the movies be more watchable? How would that serve a movie like Hobgoblins or Pod People? Imagine what the animators could do with the scene of Tor chasing the kids in Beast of Yucca Flats? And just think how the outhouse scene in Boggy Creek II could come alive!
All I know is, if I were very, very rich, I’d fund one of the studios to turn Wild Wild World of Batwoman into an animated romp. Fun!
So which MSTed movie would you like so see in an animated version? What would it be like?

The opening credits of “Catalina Caper” and “Moon Zero Two” would look great animated. Wait….Oh.
Jack Frost done in beautiful hand drawn style like The Snowman from the early 80s. Instant classic we’d all watch every year at Christmas. Well, we all watch the current live action MST3K at Christmas now, but… the new version would have us dreaming of sugarplums, candy canes and small sleds made out of living piglets.

Oh, I guess Pixar could do a version of “Warrior of the Lost World.” But the heroes are cute-looking versions of Megaweapon and the motorcycle. Maybe they can even fall in love ala “Wall-e.”

I’m thinking that “Quest of the Delta Knights” would make a good role-playing game.
I would do an animated cartoon series similar to “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” starring Mitchell and teaming him with a guest character every week to fight crime. The first episode would have him team with Rowsdower and Troy to stop Sartoris’ plot to take over Canada with his LSD-laced maple syrup. The possibilities are limitless.
A reboot of “The Last of the Wild Horses”.In this version,Duke gets in the middle of a ranch foreman’s scheme to steal the My Little Ponies and there adorable leader Princess Twilight Sparkle.And in the end they all realize friendship is magic!
“Boggy Creek 2:And The Legend Continues” done as a Pokemon feature starring Ash Ketchum in the Chales B. Pierce roll. Ash is now exploring the new Boggy Creek region trying to capture the legendary Pokemon…The Boggy Creek Monster!

I see “Mitchell” done in stop motion using animated food. Merlin Olsen would be played by pillow of Shredded-Wheat, Martin Balsam perhaps a knish… Linda Evans would of course be played by a breadstick, and Joe Don Baker would be played by an open can of Schlitz, with plenty of foam dripping all over everything…

Very much agree with Jack Frost being done in the style of Disney (will probably result in an even more insane Baba Yaga). A few more ideas:
-Either Santa Claus or Santa Claus Conquers the Martians in the style of a Tim Burton stop-motion animated film;
-Cave Dwellers in the style of a 1980’s Ruby-Spears action cartoon;
-Space Mutiny done either in the style of a Sunbow-produced cartoon based on a Hasbro toy line (although if they do it a la My Little Pony, Blast Hardcheese should be done a la a certain pony in the more recent series) or Thunderbirds/Team America: World Police.
One more idea: Angels Revenge in the style of anime.

RACKET GIRLS in the form of a zany Bob Clampett Cartoon.
ESCAPE 2000 as a Jay Ward/Bill Scott Rocky and Bullwinkle type cartoon, with serials as they move under the Bronx.
TERROR FROM THE YEAR 5000 as a Hanna/Barbara 60’s style cartoon. Perhaps a visit from El Kabong to smack the peeping janitor.
Animation would have been a boost for movies like Cave Dwellers and Outlaw, which demand you imagine what they couldn’t afford to show. Gamera movies are already sort of a cartoon, so why not go whole hog on them? (the fight scenes would probably have more imagination). Puma Man tries really hard to milk its budget, using technology that was only just becoming popular and widely used (You will believe a guy can trip over things while flying – but mostly, you’ll believe he can fly). We can say the same for Stranded in Space, but there we have the real quandary – animation won’t make boring garbage less boring. Oddly, I think it would have helped movies like the Coleman Francis Trilogy to be less boring – we would have seen more of what Francis was trying to get across, instead of leaving them to a narration or stiff acting. Creeping Terror too.
A unique exception to all of this is Revenge of the Creature – as a cartoon, it would look, feel, sound and act like it’s live-action counterpart.
3 reasons why they need to re animate most if not all of the MST’d movies..
1. make the female characters in these things look more like ladies and less like linebackers.
2. muscle up the ‘Winkies’ and assorted packs of thin gay nazis running around in upsetting shorts and/or mankinis. probably should put some pants on them as well. one buffalo shot is one too many sometimes.
3. at least redo ‘Prince of Space’ and edit out the barrage of shots of Krankor and his chicken men disturbingly pronounced lttle sizzlers.
Rather than the movies, what kind of animation style do you guys think would best suit Joel, Mike, the ‘Bots and the Mads?
