@ Luke Forrester, they’ve already said they can’t get rights to any figures or anything, so I wouldn’t count on it.
Very nice looking box, and the MSRP is only 5 bucks higher (and I was expecting a higher price for the extra disc).

Done! Thanks, Erhardt!
Interestingly, we watched Gamera Versus Guiron last night (a not-very-good taped version). All the singing along taps beautifully into the dumb spirit of the movie. I can’t wait!

Gamera is really neat!

I haven’t preordered yet because I want to make sure Shout! isn’t giving something else away for ordering through them again. Either way, can’t friggin wait!

How did they get permission to put Gamera on the box?

To number 17:
Instead of holding off, you might want to consider preordering. That way if the price goes up, you’re locked in at $45. If the price drops, you order drops to the lowest price. And then if Shout offers anything, you can always cancel you Amazon order since they don’t charge your credit card until the order ships. It’s a win-win situation.

It’s beautiful!
But is Gamera lighting the globe or hocking it up? ;)

It’s a legal thing. It’s not a true depiction of Gamera and is therefore not legally punishable.

I know they don’t have the rights for a Gamera toy…but why not a little plastic TIBBY!

This is the epitome of nit-picking but: I really hate when they use a Mike silhouette on the packaging of Joel episodes.

I hope it comes with a Coke!

Pre-ordered! Unfortunately I’ll be in my third month at Afghanistan. But my wife will send it to me in a care package once she gets it! It’ll be well worth the wait.

I haven’t been buying the recent MST3K sets (too poor), but I will find the money for this set. I am really excited — I started watching the show during season 3, so the Gamera movies are near and dear to my heart.

On the subject of DVD releases, thought I would throw in two quick general updates.
1. Rhino box sets are very quickly going out of print one by one, even though it seemed for the longest time as if this was not really going to happen. The first four collections are finally totally out of print (#4 kinda fluctated in and out of print for the last year or so, but it’s really gone this time), joining volumes eight and nine (and the original #10). Meanwhile, all single-disc volumes save for “Manos” have all gone out of print. So really this time, if any Rhino releases are missing from your collection, grab them now before some of their prices skyrocket.
2. I don’t think this has been reported anywhere else yet, and it’s certainly not on Shout’s web site yet, but the next two “Shout Select” titles are going to be “Hamlet” and “Gunslinger.” These two were listed on Shout’s affiliate-commission program, but alas no release dates have been posted yet.

Pre-ordered and I can’t wait to get it. Honestly, I don’t understand the fixation on having figurines added to these sets. They are a nice extra, but to me the most important thing is just to get more episodes on quality DVD releases with hopefully some entertaining and interesting extra features on the DVDs. I like the toys when they include them, but they’re not something I long for.
Hey everyone, Amazon is currently selling Volume XX at HALF PRICE! If you haven’t purchased it yet, now’s a good time to do so.

WOW!!!! AND THE BEST PART OF IT IS THAT IT’S A TIN BOX!!!! VERY COLLECTABLE!!!! I can keep my frick and frack in that box.

I love that, after a severe Season Three drought, we get SEVEN season three episodes within two box sets… Keep ’em comin’, Shout Factory!

@ Mr. B(ob)- AMEN! The core focus should always be the DVD. Toys and extras are nice but even if it was just the dvd in a plain cardboard wrapper with no disc art I’d still be thrilled to get the best available version.

I hope it comes with a porcelain Tibby on a motorized rotary tray

@41- “Hamlet”?! Seems like a very odd choice considering it is notoriously unpopular (That is just what I have perceived through commentary I have read, personally I got a few chuckles out of it but felt insanely annoyed by the horrible sound quality of the overdub on the film).
Thanks for sharing this info!

Pre-ordered…first time I’ve pre-ordered one of these in a LONG time. Now, is there some special equation that’ll spit out the percentage of encouragement I just did that they will do “Time of the Apes” (MST3K and non-MST3K versions together) alone for the next set?
August can’t get here fast enough. Anybody else expect nightly nightmares about last minute rights issues? Oh oh oh! Mommy mommy! Oh oh no! Gamera is a friend to all children!

Oops. Remove the work “alone”. :( I had another point I was making and bailed but left a remnant.
